Califone 3068AV Stereo/Mono Headphones, 3.5 mm Stereo Plug, Black

I have hearing loss in one ear so the individual volume controls are a blessing. Only one potential drawback--if your listening volume is loud enough, the earpieces make an almost complete sound seal. They may also be a little heavier than most so be aware if that is an issue. Otherwise it is an excellent product. It also comes with an adapter to fit different size jacks and the cable is plenty long.

I bought these for my son to use for his metal detector. I tested them first as my son has hearing problems associated with hearing loss at birth. I thought at first that the headphones wouldn't even fit as they appear to be tight. You can slide the earpads on each side up/down several inches to adjust to your level of comfort. These are meant to fit SNUGLY against the head but they are still comfortable. They are meant for things like metal detectors and you don't want them falling off every time you bend over or turn. Now, about their intended use, they are perfect for metal detecting BUT they are pretty freaking awesome for listening to music while exercising or just sitting around. The sound is quite good and adjustable from mono to stereo and separate volume control to fine tune your media. I used them with a cell phone , a computer, an MP3 player, and older iPad and iPhone and iPod, a video game player and a new PSP,. AND an Old School PIONEER HOME STEREO because these ALSO COME WITH AN ADAPTER FOR THE BIG JACKS! That was a nice surprise. I haven't had a set of those kind of headphones in a while and it was great to listen to old 8 tracks and cassettes and albums on my old setup from 79 ! So, I finally relinquished the headphones to my son and he loves them. He is a little guy and they fit him well too and he likes that they don't fall off like his regular headphones. He could clearly hear his new metal detector and he used them later on with his Galaxy Tab 4. These are DEFINITELY worth the price and then some. To the people who ask about the being "tight", as I said they ARE adjustable and I am 5'6" woman and my son is 4" 9' small frame, my teen daughter is 5" 7 in and she readjusted them in several positions and even ran in them and they did not budge. They are snug and secure so if that's not what you want then I wouldn't get them. For us the sound and secure fit are well worth more than these cost so these are a STEAL. Less than 9 bucks for the best headphones I've seen at this price? Yeah, we'll be getting a couple more of these.

These are like the headphones you used in your high school library with old A/V equipment. Then again, I'm a bit older than some of you youngsters so that might taint my vision of them. However, they are good quality, light, and you can wear them for 30 minutes without getting cauliflower ears. Longer than 30 minutes and they do begin to feel a little annoying where you'd like to take them off for a while. The cord is quite long and does have a coiled section to let you extend it even further. Without the coil stretched I'd say 4 feet, stretch the coil then probably 7 or 8 feet. There is a switch on the left ear to switch from stereo to mono and there is a volume adjustment dial on each earpiece as well. The leather/foam ear coverings are quite comfortable, but the inner piece is just the raw/hard plastic - would have been better with a foam/cloth covering. Bottom line - good quality, great price. At the same time I purchased these, I also purchased the cheap/similar Hamilton Electronics SchoolMate Deluxe Stere/Mono Headphone with 1/8 inches Plug and 1/4 inches Adapter, Volume . The Califone set is much better in all respects except the Hamilton does have foam inside the earpieces covering the plastic inner piece.

Excellent sound quality for the price.

Awesome. This has no Mike. This has no built-in Bluetooth technology connectivity. The weight is about average for its size. Well designed and made. High quality functional unit. Excellent value for your money for independent controls of left or your right ear.

I've used these on and off for a year or so. Sound is fine, independent volume controls on both sides is interesting but not useful for my purposes. Originally, they were too tight, and my normally sensitive ears really hurt after wearing these for a while. But I started repeatedly bending them open at different points through the head brace - though I was worried I'd break them - and eventually got them to a point where they sit on my (large) head with just enough pressure, and while I'd never call any headphones comfortable, these are now definitely not uncomfortable. The other issue I've had is forgetting to take them off when getting up and moving away from the computer desk. Oops. As a result, the connector at the PC end is failing, and takes some wiggling to get the sound to come through correctly. I've purchased a 90 degree adapter to avoid that with other headphones in the future. TL;DR: Decent sound, decent comfort after some brute force, and cheap. I'm about to purchase another pair because of the wiring issue, though I may try to repair the current ones for a backup.

I needed a set of earphones to listen to some communications radios without annoying my wife. Of course, we all have bucket loads of those cheap earbuds laying around these days, but I wanted something better without investing alot. So, I came across these on Amazon. Inexpensive and lots of appealing features like the Mono/Stereo Switch, separate Volume Controls on each cup, comfortable ear pads, and fully adjustable to head size. The audio is good for my purpose because the headset cuts out the the high end hiss. That particular characteristic would not please me if my primary desire was to use these to listen to music which I've tried doing. Lots of bass, but the sound is like having the upper sound frequencies clipped, like having Treble turned up. So, it's a little muffled. You can't complain much for the price. Some people have said they like these to use for their Metal Detectors. Yes, perfectly perfect for something like that, and for music in a pinch. Overall, I'm happy with the earphones for my purpose.

I'm going from 4 star because of the headphones jack not fitting which I tried to rig to a 2 star which should probably be a 1 star. if you look at the picture it looks like they come with a 1/4" jack and a 1/8" adapter. The 1\4 jack fits my metal detector well (bounty hunter tracker IV) but the 1/8" jack that's attached to the headphone fits so loosely into the 1/4" jack that the connection isn't made and I can't hear a tone on the detector while using the headphones. When I say loose, I mean you could shake it out just by walking and trying to use the detector. This was bought as a bundle deal meaning headphones and detector and shovel and pin pointer but shipped separately. Needless to say but I will anyway, I missed the deadline like so many others do before the problem arises. So, I would not recommend these headphones to use with a metal detector. My new fix since electrical tape/ tie ties didn't work for long is to use a thick rubber band twisted many tines around both jacks to try and secure them together. Yes, I'm stubborn. Hope it lasts. Four stars because I could make it work. The actual headphones are fantastic. Very comfortable for more than four hours at a time. However, these plug into my metal detector and the main plug goes into the detector fine. But the secondary plug at the end of the headphones that goes into the main plug fits loosely and becomes unplugged easily. To solve this, after plugging the secondary plug into the primary plug, I used electrical tape and wrapped it around both plugs to keep them connected. Only had to do this once and so far, so good it hasn't come unplugged.
