new versus old packaging
I loved this tea when I started buying it in the old packaging (yellow packaging as shown in product photo). I'm always looking for a decaf tea that I can enjoy in the evening - and this tea, with its mellow toasty rice flavor, hit the spot. When it vanished from the shelves of the Asian grocery store, I began looking for it online. A little while ago, it also mysteriously disappeared from Yamamotoyama's website, so I turned to Amazon.I still love this tea, but I don't understand what's going on with the price and packaging. The price seems to be increasing, while the packaging has been downgraded to a flimsier, smaller tea bag with less tea in it. The old yellow box contained 20 teabags - the new green one contains 18. What happened?

Great Tea
My husband's coworker first introduced me to green tea with brown rice when she came back from a trip to the Pacific rim several years ago. She knew of my love for tea and wanted me to try it. This tea from Yamamotoyama is the closest I've found to what she brought me. It has a deep earthy flavor that is very satisfying - and because it is decaf, I can drink it any time.

More toasted rice
Like the tea very much but wish it had more toasted rice favor.

Refreshing and Warm
Taste:The Taste is fantastic. I love the roasted brown rice aroma. Although I have both caffeinated and decaffeinated, I drink the decaffeinated in the late afternoon or evening to keep warm and not having to worry that I won't be able to sleep. It works great when we have guests over too :) I drink the caffeinated tea in the morning. And, it goes great after dinner or after a meal...A Nice Warm Cup of light tea :)Price:Buying this pack is like buying each for $.24 cents each, very worth it. If you bought it at stores, it is more expensive per bag. Regular store prices are about $10 for a pack of 6 bags. Buying this pack is well worth the money.

Decaf, but flavor is lost
I previously purchased the regular Yamamotoyama Genmaicha from Amazon and it was sooo flavorful and delicious. I'm trying to cut down on my caffeine content, so I decided to try this out. There is definitely a difference. The tea is not as fragrant, it is tough to describe, but it's just not as toasty as the caffeinated. If you're trying to cut down on caffeine, I would recommend to buy the regular caf and just toss the first steep to lower the caffeine content. That way, you will not lose out on flavor.

Delicious
I love that there's a decaf version of this delicious roasted tea.I had been addicted to this tea, but had to give it up when I was pregnant and had to cut back on caffeine. Then I found this and was happy again. I still drink this daily.
