1080 G212 Gloss Black Metallic 5ft x 1ft (5 Sq/ft) Car Wrap Vinyl Film

Purchased 3M 1080 G212 GLOSS BLACK METALLIC in a 5x1ft sheet--specifically from seller VViViD Vinyl, just in case something changes on this product page in the future. I received 100% genuine, high quality 3M 1080 vinyl, packaged professionally. Bought the 3M 1080 line in G212 GLOSS BLACK METALLIC specifically because I had read that it was a good color match for Tuxedo Black on my 2015 Ford F150. Far exceeded my expectations, I used it to cover holes in the body behind where the factory badges used to sit, and you have to be less than a foot away and looking very closely to even notice that it isn't factory paint. I've never used vinyl this good before. Highly glossy (good match for a vehicle clear coat), very thin application (great for me, no white outline like you would see with thicker vinyl), very sticky, but easy to reposition, and it hasn't budged since I applied it. I mentioned thin, but the product stretches and seems very robust and sturdy, I have no concerns about the adhesive lifting or the vinyl getting damaged--it's already been through the car wash once and nothing changed. Great product, packaging was excellent, will definitely revisit the 3M 1080 product line and VViViD Vinyl for any of my vinyl needs in the future!

More difficult than I expected, I used it to cover part of the top of my headlights to give it a cleaner body line. That being said, it appears to be a very high quality and once it's on there, it looks really good. I put a coat of wax over it as soon as I put it on the car, and it took the wax with no problems at all. It's been through probably 20 automatic car washes and it sits in the sun all day. So far, a few months later, no problems.

first time using 3m and this worked great. easy to use and apply, this matched my C8 corvette carbon flash paint very well!!! couldn't be happier.

Perfect paint match for GM Jet Black Metallic (at least on a Saab 9-5). Used to remove the chrome headlight surround look. Easy to apply and work with. I originally purchased some of this 2 years ago and it still looks good on the car even after 2 years of automatic car washes despite 3M saying not to go through them.

I installed this on my A pillars and they look great and stay on even through the car wash.

I like it, but would not use this again. First of all, the stock edges on the roll (I got 3 rolls) are not cut straight. So, if you are depending on 12" width and need straight lines, pass on this. I used this to produce 10" wide racing stripes. What I do like is once you master the short installation learning curve is that this applies without air bubbles. What I don't like is that once it barely touches the surface you are installing onto, it really sticks - not easy to peel up and reposition without stretching the material as you pull it up again, which creates more problems when it comes time to smooth out. Also, it scuffed surprising easy from a microfiber towel as I worked on one small air bubble. Maybe it needs time in the sun to become more durable. I would not install this again without making sure the wet install method could be used with it.

If this was sold in a smaller quantity, I would have given it six stars. I only use vinyl for my Chevy bowties. The smallest quantity I could purchase was 5 square feet. I literally needed less than 1 square foot. Would have been nice to pay for the amount I needed. Even 2.5 square feet would have been a nice option. Anyway, other than that, this stuff is great. Near perfect color match to my Black Granite metallic paint. Easy to cut. Easy to position and reposition. Easy to smooth out. I didn't use a heat gun or blow dryer or anything like that. I just peeled off the backing and stuck it on. I give it my amateur, DIY seal of approval. ;)

This stuff works great. I like the fact that is is available in almost any color. Even the "Carbon Flash Metallic" color also known as Metallic Black. Matches the C7 Corvette trim perfectly. Easy to use and plenty to go around for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend using this for many automotive applications. Use a hair dryer to assist in bonding and shaping to the form it is being placed on.

3m is good stuff, blacked out my reflectors and its a pretty close match to BMW sapphire blk metallic to my surprise. Also did the headlight eyebrows.

Very little experience needed. Amazing quality and nice protective film on top.
