Six Weeks In: Very Happy With the Halo 2 . . .
The BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 is more expensive than many other monitor light bars, but after six weeks of daily use, I feel it justifies the price. The build quality is excellent and the product has a solid, premium feel. I was initially hesitant to add another device to my desk, yet the wireless controller sits unobtrusively to the side and is very well designed in both form and function. The light bar provides even illumination with no glare on my 32” monitor and no light shining directly into my eyes while I’m using the screen. My monitor sits in the middle of the room, about six feet from the wall, so I can’t really comment on the Halo 2’s effectiveness as a “bias” light behind the display. The Auto Mode adjusts the brightness for the room very effectively, and the Auto Detect feature is a thoughtful addition that makes day‑to‑day use easier. Although I have not tested competing models, I am very satisfied so far and feel confident that the BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 was a good purchase.

You go this far, just add to cart.
TLDR: Purchased a couple of these on a whim. If you're looking at this review, just buy it. Saw an ad on Facebook for these and thought it was a new eye tracker. Turns out it's just a light. I've delt with bias lighting on TVs and understand the benefits of not looking at a screen in complete darkness. Never even thought about it with my monitor because I always work/play in a room with the lights on. Monitor is OLED and the way I have it calibrated, dark/night scenes in gaming are pitch black and impossible to see without an in-game light (flash light/lantern/torch/night vision) when I have my overhead light on. If I turn the overhead light off it looks perfect but then I'm playing in the dark and I can feel the eyestrain after a while, not to mention the "gamer in his mom's basement" feel playing in the dark gives you. This little light bar fixed everything. I can see everything so much better in game (including in bright scenes), no more eyestrain from being in the dark, no glare on the monitor, nice ambient light from the backlight and desk/work surface is illuminated nicely. Literally improved my KD on BF6 instantly. It's really just stepped up the functionality and feel of my home office so much and for so cheap compared to the rest of the setup. My favorite feature is the sensor. Walk away with the light on and it turns off by itself. Sit down to work/play and it turns on. I'm living in the future like some sort of supervillain tech mogul from a 90's sci-fi movie. That feeling alone is worth the price of admission. They're expensive but worth it IMO. Wish I had purchased one years ago. Looks like they market heavily to professionals/programmers for some reason but gamers should 100% be the target for these and gamers should 100% have them. Both my son and I absolutely love them. We're running them on a 49" Samsung OLED G9 (1800R) and a 34" Samsung OLED G8 (1800R) and fit, cutoff, etc. is excellent.

Sexy, quality, love it!
Designed and feels premium right out of the box, including the desktop remote. Easy to install and use. Controls are intuitive. Instantly made the computer desk feel cozy and the lighting made it so much easier on my eyes. I LOVE the auto on/off sensor. Basically the moment you sit down, it'll detect that you're there and turn on automatically. If you're gone for about 3-5 minutes, it shuts off on its own. I use the auto-dimming feature during the day to let it adjust on its own, then at night time I switch manually to the warm light setting. Only downside is that it looks quite bright from the side but why would you be staring at it from the side in the first place? Yea this one's expensive vs others but it's worth the price and you can keep it for a looooong time.

Best Computer screen Light-bar on the Market!
So clean and elegant. I love the side touch control dial, and it’s just so easy to use. Everything comes assembled. You get an amazing array of light controls: brightness, color, temperature, auto sensing, and the dual front and back lights. It’s just a great product, and it’s really worth the money to elevate your office setup.

Great color and smooth light output. Front light is a bit too slim and creates stark light.
Bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The construction is great, as is the light output in terms of color and consistency. Very easy to mount and very light. The backlight provides a great way to diffuse lighting, making things much easier on your eyes while still providing great clarity. The front light is very good on a technical level but its very narrow, so it creates very stark, bright light in the area where the light is directed. Even at the lowest setting the light is not diffuse enough in my opinion, I guess a trade off for the slim form factor. It can also use about twice the power of the back light, though both lights use very little power (maxed out about 14w~, I average 3.5w using mainly the backlight). If the front light was more diffuse it would be perfect, but otherwise a very good monitor/desk light.

where have you been all my life? :D how did i get by without a monitor light bar for so long?!?!?
not quite sure how i went so many years without a monitor light bar!?!?!? most of the times, we're looking at our screen, but you might have papers, mail, etc. that you have on your desk that you need to look at also. before, i had lamps next to both sides of my desk, but i realized that my desk was extremely dark and hard to see papers and other stuff that i needed to read. i started researching options to make my desk brighter and came across this. LIFE CHANGING! like the song goes... "i can see clearly now...", lol. seriously, i can't imagine doing any desk work without this light bar. i haven't tried others, but this one has been great! specific features that i love: + the back light and ability to adjust the front light and back light with the dial is great! + the motion detector senses when you're not at your desk and turns off automatically to save electricity/money/environment! although i give it 5 stars, there are couple minor things i wish were better: - i use an external logitech hd video camera, and i had to play around a bit to figure out where to place; finally settled on placing it on top of the thick arm part of the light bar (that connects to the thin light bar); i had to tape the video cam to the light bar arm so that it would not fall off; also the video cam picks up part of the light that the light bar emits, but only appears as a fine line in my video when on calls - i have a glass desk, so the light reflects a little off the desk; it was a little distracting at first, but don't notice it now; and usually when i look down at my desk, i likely have paper(s) that i need to look at, so it blocks the light reflection; i could also look into buying a matte anti-glare screen protector and cut it to the dimension of the reflection on my glass desk and affix to my desk. but again, not anywhere close to being a deal breaker. the benefits certainly outweigh the demerits by a lot! quality is well made and fits well (definitely not flimsy; secure on my monitor), and the matte dark grey color is great (a matte black version would also look great)! overall, extremely happy! :)

Very pleased with this light
This light bar is excellent. It was expensive, but it was worth it. I love how it provides light on my desktop without creating glare on the screen. I also like how it automatically turns on when I sit down at my desk. It was extremely easy to set up. It comes with a remote to set the intensity and color of the light. That allowed me to dial in what works best for me. I haven't needed the remote since the light bar remembers the previous settings when it turns on.

Sleek, Practical Upgrade for Night Setup
This light bar has been a great addition to my 32” curved 4K monitor setup. What impressed me most is the adjustability and how well it fits without interfering with the screen. The brightness adjustment is smooth and precise — I can fine-tune it from very subtle desk glow to bright task lighting. The adjustable color temperature is equally useful. I keep it on a warmer tone at night to match my bias lighting, and it blends perfectly without creating harsh contrast. Fit-wise, it sits securely on top of my curved monitor without wobbling or sliding. The counterweight design balances well and doesn’t block any part of the display. No glare or reflection issues either — the asymmetric light distribution keeps illumination on the desk, not in my eyes. Assembly was straightforward. It was essentially plug-and-play — attach the weighted mount, place it on top of the monitor, connect USB power, and it’s ready. No tools required, no complicated setup. Overall, it feels thoughtfully engineered — clean look, stable fit, and very easy to dial in for comfort.

No Competition.
Ok, I had to ask myself, why is this light bar so expensive compared to the other light bars available on Amazon. I couldn't justify the price, so I bought a ~$80 light bar, and I felt that was the right move. When the more affordable light bar arrived, I set it up, but was largely disappointed. It had some nice features and it was fine. But it was difficult to adjust, either too much glare on the screen or too much glare in my eyes. The temperature adjustments were a bit crude, too yellow to too white. The brightness was not low enough or too bright. Build quality wasn't something that concerned me at the time because it was my first light bar and I had no benchmark. After a day or two of struggling with the cheaper light bar, I decided to return it and get the BenQ ScreenBar. And when I say the quality and features of this light are night and day from the $80 model, I'm underselling it. They don't even compare, approach/away light features, precise colour temperature, a wide range of brightness, and the light angle is precision when it comes to adjustment. Big bonus, easy to add a webcam on top and even comes with a mounting bracket for the camera (but I didn't need it). Major consideration, the remote is boss and rechargeable! All usb-c powered and it was worth every dollar. This is THE light bar, also works incredibly well on curved monitors, just need to spend some time centring it properly on the display. If you have the cheese, spend it here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Monitor Light – Worth Every Penny The BenQ Halo Light Bar has completely transformed my workspace. The lighting is bright, evenly distributed, and does an excellent job of reducing eye strain during long hours at my desk. I love that it illuminates my workspace without creating glare on the monitor. The build quality is excellent, and the wireless controller is intuitive and makes adjusting the brightness and color temperature effortless. The backlight feature adds a nice ambient glow that makes the entire setup feel more comfortable and premium. Installation was quick and secure, and it fits perfectly on my monitor.

A nice looking light with some very good features
I wish I had discovered these ages ago. A very effective light that can be programmed to your liking. My most liked feature is that you never need to turn it off. After a couple of minutes or so of leaving your desk, it turns itself off. As soon as you come back, it turns itself on again.
