do they work? this one hopefully will work as well as the 20 year old one that it is replacing!! we live in the high desert which is very dry all year and your nose & static electricity will let you know if a humidifier works. this model has performed up to expectation all year long in both heat and AC modes. a plus is the ease of installation.

Too much water in the air

Had a General Aire Humidifier previously and could not replacement part for it so I needed to get a humidifier. This one was just the right one - lined up with the holes that were there from the previous one and I was able to use the humidistat that I already had - saved time with the installation.

Faulty solenoid.... It popped, began to melt, and smoke on first use. Had to shut the power off and unwire it. The only positive was the actual unit was able to replace my old 1040 unit.

I had an older model that was taken apart by my oldest son and never put back together so we lost some essential parts. This was essentially a remove and replace project. All of the old ductwork, power lines and water lines were in the right spot which made this project easy. I especially like how easy it is for me to operate.

i just turned my heat on and blew the solenoid i had a 120v you gave me a 24v i fried it

It was a like kind replacement so installing was easy.
