Huh. It actually worked. Using this with an Asus PG32UCDM and it's able to carry a 10 bit HDR, VRR enabled, 240hz signal no problem. I was under the impression that the maximum length for an 80gbps non optical cable was 2m or so, but I guess that's changed. Maybe it's just that this is not yet certified? Running the 5m cable and it's even a bit too long but works like a charm. Seems to be unidirectional as well, so not fibre optic I imagine. Please note that the cable is extremely thick and hard to handle, twice as thick as a regular DP 2.1 cable.

***** This item fixed my monitor flickering ***** I had issues with my setup that I couldn’t figure out. I noticed this flickering background on my monitor when playing PoE2 and then suddenly saw it in every game, app, even on browsers or just sitting on desktop. This flickering was bizarre as it wasn’t causing signal to drop out or lose connection. It was a subtle effect that you could see on high contrast scenes or dark scenes (night time or off the map areas in PoE2). If I hadn’t re-organized my setup and had a need for this longer higher quality cable I might have never figured out what the fix for it was. Turns out my old cable wasn’t compatible with the resolution and refresh rate I was pushing from my new rig. (4K @ 240hz) I hooked this up and it took a minute to realize the flickering was completely gone. Played PoE2 for an hour or so and still no flicker. I can’t believe I never thought about the old DisplayPort cable not being the right spec for my build. I usually don’t write reviews on products but I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. The cable jacket is a tough cloth/nylon like fabric that’s rugged but easy to pull through cable management trays. I also like the muted color and appearance of the cable instead of the loud blue or yellow of the old one. Will definitely be buying Silkland for cables when I redo my living room entertainment center.
