How to End the Autism Epidemic

I am a pediatrician with a career including private pediatric practice for 31 years, 11 years as a major university Department of Pediatrics Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics in a community pediatric residency training program, and most recently, 5 years practicing pediatric integrative medicine. Over these past 5 years I have worked with a large number of children who have autism and with their parents. I have found them to among the most courageous, inspiring, and determined parents I have ever encountered in my 47-year career. In the process of becoming educated about environmental causes of various chronic health problems that are common in an integrative medicine practice, always looking for pathways to correct underlying causal pathologies, I have read some 18 books about vaccines and about biomedical treatments for autism. This book, by a parent of an autistic child, and another recent book by pediatrician Paul Thomas, The Vaccine Friendly Plan (2017), have led me to reconsider much of what I had been taught and read in the area of vaccine effectiveness, safety, and especially about Informed Consent – a long-held foundational precept in the field of medicine. In fact, these two books together, along with prior exhaustive study of relevant scientific articles and other books on both sides of the issue have led me to the conclusion that standard practice of information provided to parents of children about the vaccines that are recommended fails to qualify as Informed Consent. It would more accurately be described as Uninformed Coercion. These comments are not intended to claim or imply that vaccines are “the” cause of autism, nor that children should not receive vaccines at all – but rather that there is a dire and pressing need to learn more about vaccine effectiveness and safety, and especially that informed consent and the related issue of parental choice about whether or not their child receives recommended vaccines must be modified. It has been more than eye-opening to understand that vaccines are not, in the unqualified sense, “safe and effective.” Even more so, it has been troubling to realize that we as a profession have failed to provide our patients true informed consent about vaccines. After all, the Hippocratic oath dictates “Primum non nocere” (first do no harm), and awards to families for vaccine adverse events through the VAERS system and the “Vaccine Court” since 1986 have surpassed $3.7 billion - in a system that is expensive, arduous for families to navigate, and stacked against petitioners. The US Supreme Court ruling in 2011 supporting vaccine manufacturers’ exemption from any liability for vaccine damages, because vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe” (Bruesewitz v. Wyeth LLC) is prescient. I urge all parents or parents-to-be, as well as fellow pediatricians and other health care professionals who administer vaccines, to read this book, as well as Dr. Thomas’ above-referenced work. We all owe J.D. Handley the courtesy of at least reading and considering what his extraordinary synthesis of published and credible evidence shows. I find the information he shares to be compelling, albeit in many cases quite disturbing. With a 42-year professional pediatric background and after about 7 years of intensive study of the science behind vaccines, autism, and their connection or lack thereof, I find the author’s reasoning and the sources he cites to be extraordinarily well conceived and credible. Had I not previously read about many of the lines of research and evidence he cites, I would have found his conclusions shocking to the point of outright dismissal. His sources however are of the highest credibility and his line of reasoning irrefutable. Two oft-repeated statements made by parents and professionals alike who summarily dismiss the idea that vaccines are not “safe and effective” in the unqualified sense are: • Vaccines have been proven not to cause autism. • The science is settled. The author virtually destroys each of these arguments in a manner that requires one to suspend rationality to continue to believe they are true. The prevailing cultural tendency to label any parent, or even health care professional, who questions vaccine safety or effectiveness as “anti-vaccine” and often repeating the above two unsupportable assertions, must stop. Eroding confidence and trust in vaccines among both groups can only be repaired through honest, respectful dialogue and following some of the suggestions advanced by Mr. Handley. These two books together offer a roadmap for improving vaccine safety and a wealth of ideas for how both parents and we professionals can begin to reduce the risks inherent in vaccines. They offer hope that the exponential increase in the incidence of autism to one in 32 children (CDC Fall, 2017) can be rolled back to past dramatically lower levels in the future. Thank you, Mr. Handley, and Dr. Thomas, for providing parents of children and us professionals who work with them indispensable resources for making intelligent decisions about vaccines in a manner that is true Informed Consent. I intend to recommend these two books to all parents and professionals who inquire about resources to become more informed. Samuel D. I was awakened to the VACCINE/ HARM issue when I worked as veterinary technician throughout high school and college (and beyond.) Although I saw some moderate to severe vaccine reactions, veterinarians recognized it and had protocals in place to treat pets who had a reaction. (Unlike most human doctors- who, cultishly, won’t believe what is happening in front of their eyes unless someone in their perceived authority tell them they can believe it.) I didn’t really think much about vaccines other than my last tetanus shot swelled into an almost bursting girth on my upper arm, and that (I was told) I slept for 3 days straight locked in my bedroom, insisting on darkness, with a delirious burning fever. I was @14. Later my mom told me, “ welcome back! Those shots always knocked you for a loop.” (Looking back I realize that my “migraines” were nothing but brain swelling.) All of this led me to some serious research once I became pregnant with my first baby over 16 years ago. My research led me down a rabbit hole! I could not believe that there were no long term studies using a double blind # inert # placebo comparing vaccinated verses un vaccinated to examine and compare life long physical and emotional harm! There are also no studies which look at the effect of combining these products together! I found out that our vaccine program, well as other regulatory commissions charged with keeping us safe, are run by a cult of Snake oil salesmen. There were also thousands of peer reviewed studies showing that these things can not only cause harm, but the retrovirus contaminates have already caused untold effects upon the human genome. So to JB”s book. I would completely recommend it not only to my friends, but this book should be given to every single woman as soon as (or before) she becomes pregnant. This would be the greatest gift you could give her! (But don’t stop there! Give this book to your doctor, your politicians, teachers and to your heal care workers .... As a well researched person who has been steeped in this information for over 16 years, not only did I learn something new— But gasped, and I moaned and groaned in pleasure with the way he put all of this information together. * Simply put - it was orgasmic. Now- my husband thinks that saying this is inappropriate, but honestly the way JB powerfully and elegantly weaves this information in such a succinct and easy to understand way— all while shining a light upon those Snakes who have enjoyed a grand life while profiting off of disabling and destroying the world”s children (and devastating families).... yes, I am literally shaking and trembling with pleasure and glee while reading JB methodically take down these evil people. (To my husband- give me a better word and I”ll use it.) *(BTW- I listened to the audiobook.) If you are not intelligent, you may not orgasm— but at the worst, you will say, “AHA! Aha! Aha!” And end with a “Holy Moly, WOW! That was good!” JB”s book will save slot of lives. I suggest you buy more than one.youneill want to give the book to a friend! I am an internist and nephrologist, and have signed thousands of vaccine orders in my career. It took me seeing my own patients developing new problems or worsening of their old problems, for me to even look at what is in a vaccine or investigate the likelihood that a vaccine could cause any problem at all. I believed they were doing more good than harm to my sick dialysis patients, and that they were just mostly killed microbial particles in sterile saline. I was so wrong. Years after I found the efficacy of flu shots was nowhere near where the CDC and commercials advertised, I began to look into the pediatric vaccines. I was appalled at how many vaccines children were getting, and at such an early age, and that they were given even when sick, on antibiotics. Even more appalling was the number of very sick children we have today, compared to the 1960s to 1980, especially mental issues but also cancer and autoimmune issues. I quit my job and took the issue of vaccination on full time, writing two books myself and lecturing around the world, revealing the peer-reviewed medical literature that proves vaccines are not safe, effective, or I dare say necessary. At least not as I was always taught they were. The polio story alone was enough to throttle me into full time research and writing because it was nothing of what I was taught in medical school and residency. Yet it is the first thing an ignorant believer will toss out when asked about vaccine safety. After traveling the USA, Australia, UK and New Zealand, listening to parent after parent tell the same story of how their well meaning but incompetent pediatricians literally chemically lobotomized their children, my internal alarm bells were ringing loud. We have an epidemic of vaccine injury, and I will continue to show the evidence of that every chance I get. I am so glad that a father like JB Handley was able to retire early to care for his son, and do the research it took to write this heart-wrenching and very scientific book. It is incisive, and well written. If you really want to know what vaccine court is and how protected the vaccine companies are, read this book. Pay attention to the section about the trial where Stanley Plotkin was called as an expert witness. It will have you laughing out loud and being horrified at the same time. I highly recommend every parent, parent to be, and grandparent read this book BEFORE injecting any more vaccines. The choice must be parental and the parents need a full spectrum of knowledge in order to make these important decisions. JB gave parents and the brains and well-being of future generations a huge gift. I applaud him for his courage and wit, and thank God he was able to write this book. This is soooooo important to everybody to read. I found this book through the YouTube channel "The High Wire", where the investigational journalist of vaccines were so impressed with even more findings in this book. I thought I knew a lot by following "Vaxxed" channel, but Oh, My! this book gave me more big and clear pictures of what is going on! Jaw dropping facts everywhere!! I am telling everybody to pick up this book! If we think of this as only kid's and their parent's problem, the we better wake up quickly, because this kind of Big-Pharma tack ticks are everywhere. We all can learn from this, and see how Big-Pharma, federal agency is already taken over, and we were modern-day-slaves to be milked out our money for their profits by getting fed crappy foods, get sicken and spend the rest of the money... which we worked very hard for... on all the chemicals to get even sicker. Deep appreciation and respects for the authors for putting together such a huge amount of scientific facts from all over the world, and writing this. please translate this book into Japanese! and Every major languages! This book made me more active in supporting the HPV-victim groups in Japan, and vocal about it. I am now telling people about how to detox the Aluminum using Silica containing water. Thank you for giving me the courage to do a small part, and not allowing me to be the bully by just "observing". Hope we all take the little part of the change, so that we can make the big change all together!

JB Handley has emerged as a voice of reseaon and clarity in the autism community. He's just a dad who cares immensely for his vaccine injured kid, seeking to understand what happened to his son and how to prevent it from happening to others. I've heard him call himself a reluctant activist. JB breaks this book into three parts - the lies about vaccines and autism, the truth about vaccines and autism, and a reckoning to end the Epidemic. Throughout these chapters, he breaks down the studies that have been done proving vaccines to be safe and effective. The reader learns that one vaccine and one ingredient have been studied, and even those studies don't completely support the "safe and effective" marketing tagline. Next the reader learns so much about the research being done on autism. JB pulls research from many fields of the scientific community, and puts it together to give a much more thorough holistic explanation of autism causes than anything I've read before. He digs deep into scientific research, but breaks it down to be easily understood. The depth of his research into this topic is immense and thorough. It should be making front page headlines and be receiving the bulk of research grants. The knowledge that has been gained through these studies just in the past 10 years is mind blowing. The accepted mantra right now seems to be along the lines of "we don't know what causes autism or how to prevent it" but after reading this book there's so much more known than I realized. There's much more to learn and not making it a research priority is doing a massive disservice to our children who are suffering in appalling numbers. Finally, JB touches on his views of how to drastically slow the autism epidemic and goes into just a bit of treatment and recovery. This book truly speaks for itself. JB has included 365 references in the Notes for everything he says. He's a numbers guy who just wants answers, and let's the data speak for itself. This is a book every parent and health care professional should read! I can't wait to see what JB comes publishes next.

Thanks to Stanford honors grad JB Handley for his thorough investigative report on this massive problem destroying our children while our government public health agencies stand by and let it happen- all in the name of profits. Most don’t know that the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act granted pharmaceutical companies immunity from financial liability for vaccine injury. Many don’t realize that the CDC’s repeated stance that “vaccines don’t cause autism” is based entirely on MMR studies of which the core were lead by CDC Senior Scientist Dr. William Thompson who issued this statement through his whistleblower attorney: “I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data were collected, and I believe that the final study protocol was not followed.” Most don’t know that in 2011, the HHS paid the IOM to conduct an assessment regarding vaccine safety. This Report, entitled Adverse Effects of Vaccines: Evidence and Causality, was the culmination of the largest review by the IOM regarding vaccine safety and found that the scienctific literature “convincingly supports a causal relationship” for 14 of these serious injuries, including pneumonia, meningitis, hepatitis, MIBE (deadly brain inflammation a year after vaccination), febrile seizures, and anaphylaxis. The IOM also reported that 4 other commonly reported serious vaccine reactions were likely caused by vaccines. The IOM found the scientific literature was insufficient to conclude whether or not those vaccines caused 135 other serious injuries commonly reported after their administration, including: autoimmune disorders, GBS, MS, encephalitis, encephalopathy, SIDS, Autism, etc. Many may not know that the HHS commissioned Harvard Pilgrim to automate vaccine injury reporting for 3 years, during which time 375K vaccine recipients reported 35K vaccine adverse reactions. That’s 1 in 10 vaccine adverse reactions. Vaccine injury is not rare. Many don’t know that if your child is injured by one or any of the 72 recommended vaccine doses on the CDC schedule that have never been cumulatively safety studied, you can’t sue the manufacturer. You’ll have to sue the government, through a special court in which there is no jury and you’ll be met with a hostile judge who works for...the government. The process takes an average of 5 years and very few receive compensation, capped at around $200K. The average cost of raising a child w autism is $2 MILLION. Most don’t know that Dr. Zimmerman made this statement on record in the National Vaccine Injury Court: Lawyer: Do other people in your field, reputable physicians in your field, hold the opinion that vaccines can cause the type of inflammatory response that can lead to a regressive autism? Dr. Zimmerman: Yes. Andrew Zimmerman, MD specializes in neurodevelopmental disability, neurology, pediatric neurology, and psychiatry. He is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics, University of Massachusetts Medical School and the prestigious Johns Hopkins Kennedy Krieger Institute. This and more is all in the book. If you didn’t know any of a few of these things, prepare to have referenced scientific studies, Court depositions, documented history, and more insight at your fingertips. Prepare to have your mind blown, and your life changed. Prepare to no longer trust your public health regulatory agencies to protect you or your children. Prepare to realize that the corruption is worse than anything you ever could have imagined.

I’ve been on the fence about vaccines.. I’m still doing reading but this was super informative. Heart wrenching. Very gripping and very well written. I asked my pediatrician about some of the information I read in this book. Like, “why did my generation only receive 9 vaccines before the age of 5 and my daughters generation gets 39..” and all she could say was, “because science is beautiful and if there were 25 more I would administer those too.” When I told her I was reading this book, all she could say was, “anyone that writes a book is in it for the money.” She had no knowledge and no information. But requires me to vaccinate or I have to find a new pediatrician. Needless to say, that’s what I’ll be doing. I shouldn’t have to be forced to. I know there’s a grey area somewhere, but I’m certainly not going to find it where the doctors don’t have any knowledge or any answers. Update: I was reading some of the 1 star reviews. I find it funny that I believe only 1 has a verified purchase. If one reads through the entire book, one might find J.B Handley gives a 12 step suggestion to making vaccinations safer for all people. He actually includes DTaP, Hib, and MMR on a list of vaccines that could possibly be beneficial IF certain precautions are taken...titer tests, administering an anti inflammatory... It seems to me that he is attempting to sift through extreme thinking one way or the other and attempting to find a solution and also the truth. A truth that is not swayed monetarily. For those who actually read the book, one would know he vaccinated his first son in accordance with the schedule. His second son, he did the same. Unfortunately, Jamison had an adverse reaction and now lives with a debilitating form of autism. I believe that any parent that had this experience would do everything they could, include inform the public of their findings. I don’t think it’s shameful to speak out against something that has affected ones life so dramatically. Also, I don’t believe that parents that share in this experience have much to gain other than sharing their truth and their experience. I can’t say I think the same for vaccine makers, who are rolling in billions of dollars. It’s not about taking one side or the other, in my opinion. It’s about educating oneself and making decisions based on pros and cons. A lot of people seem to have opinions and are aggravated by anyone searching for tangible proof. To those I ask, what research have you done? How has your life been impacted? And, can you say without a doubt that the injections being given to people are completely safe for EVERYONE? I feel if you cannot, it’s prudent to leave your comments at the door.

Finished this book in two days and although I don’t have any autistic children myself, I have seen firsthand the huge differences in vaccinated vs. unvaccinated. I’ve been against vaccines for 13+ years. When I had my first child, I could not understand the reason for giving such a perfectly healthy baby a Hep B shot on day one of life. As a younger mom (I was 21 at the time) I didn’t know a lot about vaccines but came from a pro vaccine family. I just knew that this didn’t sit right with me and I wanted time to research before I made a decision either way. Once I started to read both sides, it was clear to me that, for my family, vaccination was not something we wanted to do. Best decision I’ve ever made. Flash forward 13 years later and I have three extremely healthy unvaccinated children and not a single regret. The first time my oldest got sick enough for me to be concerned (she had a fever lasting more than a couple days) she was 4! Up until that point she never had anything more than a cough, runny nose, and occasionally a low grade fever. It’s the exact same story with my younger 2 except they’ve NEVER been sick enough for a doc visit. My youngest is almost two and has never been to the doc for any sort of illness. We go to regular well visits so it’s not like I’m some crazy anti-medicine person. They just don’t get sick. EVER. No allergies, no eczema, no asthma, no delays, no autumnune issues (even though almost everyone in my family has thyroid disease, including myself). They are developmentally advanced... both older kids could read before the age of 5 and the youngest is no doubt on the same trajectory. I have a pretty big family with a LOT of kids and most of them don’t have the same ideas as we do about vaccines (despite me trying to educate). Kids in my extended family are sick ALL the time. I’m talking at least 8-10 times a year. Not just small fevers and the sniffles either. We’re talking ear infections, respiratory infections, allergies, diarrhea, flu... you name it. And yes, we now have a nephew who just received an autism diagnosis. He was born 5 weeks early, received the Hep B only a few days after birth and has been on time with all vaccine appointments. He’s 3 and my 22 month old has already passed him up developmentally. As hard and sad as it is, the one good thing that has come from it is it has opened some eyes to this epidemic and the very obvious correlation between vaccines. Kids should not be this sick. Period. JB Handley does such a great job of showing how all the puzzle pieces constribute to this problem. That it’s not just “vaccines cause autism,” but it’s much bigger than that.y heart breaks for those that have been injured by vaccines and for everyone that has been affected. I am grateful everyday that I listened to my gut so long ago and that I have 3 perfectly healthy children. I hope that I can play my role in this fight by being an example of how immunity is truly devolved and what the health of children should really look like.

A great book! Thank you J.B.! Everyone who has or wants to have children has to know the information provided here. Its 2019 and some people still believe in vaccines and the propaganda that they are safe and effective. Wake up and make your due diligence.
