The gold standard of kitchen gear. Built to work, not whine.
If you’re reading reviews to decide on a KitchenAid mixer, just stop. This thing doesn’t need me to sell it. It’s been earning its reputation for years. But since I’m here, I’ll say it plain. It’s a damn workhorse. It’s heavy. It’s reliable. It handles dough like it’s daring you to throw more at it. The motor never hesitates. The build feels like it’ll last longer than I will. The attachments actually matter. Nothing about this feels cheap or trendy. It’s just solid and ready to go whenever I am. This isn’t some appliance that gets shoved in a cabinet. It lives on the counter because it deserves to. I use it all the time, and it has never once let me down. If you’re on the fence, get off it. This is the real deal. Five stars.

The attachment works
The attachment worked okay but my Kitchen Aid Mixer mini’s screw couldn’t hold it after the machine started running. It got automatically unfastened itself. I was lucky to caught it before it fell off. If you hold the screw while milling, it would work without problems. But I am 72 years old, I may not remember doing that. So I returned it and going to buy a stone miller. It cost a lot more. It will ease the worry of causing accidents To be fair, it’s a good product. It probably won’t have the problem if you use a regular size Kichen Aid machine. I have successfully milled corn kernels.

Doesn't get the job done.
I would not recommend this product. If you don't continuously hold it, it will work itself off after a couple minutes and spill wheat all over the floor. This happened to us multiple times. At the finest grind setting, the wheat still comes out very course and nothing like the flour we need to bake bread. We are past the return window so I'll have to just throw this away and buy something else.

Inconsistent texture and very taxing on the motor.
**UPDATE** Seller noticed my review and reached out to offer reconciliation which I definitely appreciate since it didn't work out for me. The fact that they're taking notice means they may also be working to make changes to the product. I hope it works out great for the next person. Did not produce a consistent texture (I needed a gritty granule and was getting a large amount of fine powder along with some much larger than expected granules rather than the in between size that I needed) and it was very stressing on my mixers motor (smelled like it was burning up the motor so I had to stop and let it rest very frequently). I did try upping the output size thinking it would be easier on the motor and I could just mill a second or even third time if needed, but I was getting the same results. Not worth burning up my new Kitchen Aid power head. So I gave up and now have a load of grains that I have no way to effectively mill.

all metal
This is an all-metal grain mill that looks like it will last a long time. The cutting parts are attached to the main metal body (rather than being one-piece), and I suppose could be replaced individually if necessary, but I think they are made that way because they are a stronger metal (compared to the rest) in order to crush and mill grain. The rest of the product looks like it was machined out of a nice chunk of metal. It has that metallic small when you touch it. It does not appear to be stainless, rather just standard steel. (They say not to get it wet.) You need to be careful not to overload your machine, but if you do, be aware that KitchenAid machine are made with a sacrificial plastic gear that is designed to break and be replaced if you overload the machine. So if you do break your machine. do not worry, it's an easy fix, there are tons of videos online on how to repair it, and the part is not expensive. I'm looking forward to making Socca from chickpea flour.
