Polycom SoundStation2 Expandable Conference Phone (2200-16200-001) (Renewed)

This renewed product arrived packed in bubble wrap and plastic bags. The power supply is not OEM Polycom - it is manufactured by a third party, but it has been working fine throughout my tests of the system. Cosmetically, it looks brand new. The sound is very good - nice and clear and you can turn it up way louder than you'd ever need. I purchased separately a Polycom cable that lets you plug in a mobile phone and I tried that out and it worked great. I also connected it to an Ooma and it worked great as well. Very pleased.

This was fairly easy to set up at home for work conference calls. The sound quality is very good and I don't have to wear headphones all day. My coworkers can hear me with no static or echoing. I put a soft cloth underneath it on the table to improve the sound. It's not too fancy and just what I needed for hours-long meetings.

Just a few cosmetic issues, but works and sounds great.

I purchased the unit for a specific event, however the event was cancelled and I never checked if the unit was working. A few months later I had another event that required the Polycom system and found out it did not work. Lessen learned, always test the products after receiving them. Now the company would not give an exchange because the warranty period has expired - but again this is for a defective product they sold as "tested" and working.

An excellent product that impressed all of us on weekly calls, great sound powerful volume and yet crystal clear voice! Not a cheap product but the value is certain! !

The unit I received had a bad power unit, and the seller replaced it right away. This is the same units we use in the office, and this is great to have for the home office, and refurb cost is the only way I could afford it.

Since this doesn't come with a manual it's not exactly the easiest to use. Googled the manual and I'm still trying to figure out how it works !!

Mandated telework means much more time on the phone. The handset on my phone isn't comfortable for long calls and I wasn't keen on using a headset. We use Polycom speakerphones in the office so I when I came across this analog version it was a no brainer. Some random comments: - Setup was a breeze after downloading the user guide, which doesn't come with the unit. - Getting the caller id to work involved cycling through the four different settings and then calling my home phone. The third one I tried did the trick. - The unit does take up a bit of desktop real estate. In my case, I was able to place most of the unit between/behind my monitors. - Audio quality is top notch with plenty of volume . - Unit I received is pristine. I'm really happy with this purchase.
