They do indeed work great, and I really like that I can now put a larger variety of energy efficient bulbs in them. BUT you need to do your research with determining the CORRECT adapter. The reason I mention this fact is that these E12 adapters are what I would call a "standard" candelabra adapter. I bought them for two of my newest ceiling fans which come with a light. Both fans came with a candelabra light socket installed in the unit. So please note one of the E12 adapters fit perfectly as it took the "standard" cadelabra light bulb, but the other takes an E11 "Mini-Candelabra" light socket adapter. I only discovered this in my "after delivery" research via a site I found with a huge listing of all types of adapters one could ever dream of needing. The internet search string I used was "US light bulb base types". They even had images of the adapters to help with which type you would need to purchase. That feature alone on the website was immeasurably helpful!

This little guy works well in those dumb ceiling fans they put in apartments that hold chandler light bulbs. They convert the light to a regular size bulb. We've used it for a year and no problems.

I have a ceiling fan that has a tiny chandelier light build socket. Now I can use a nice bright light bulb. The only thing is it adds length, so the cover won't go back on. But I'm sure I can find a suitable cover.
