Dennison's Original Chili Con Carne with Beans, Canned Chili, 15 OZ

I think Dennison's is the best shelf chili. It does not have that tinny taste of some canned chili You know, you can add to it and make it better: a little hamburger, onion, garlic, more chili powder and cumin and even add in some more pinto or black beans and tomato paste and a little beer. then you have something approximating real chili. Very handy when the power goes out.

This is a filling chili with lots of meat. The meat is soft and tasty. This is not a bad chili, but there is a very slight after taste from one of the ingredients that while isn't a deal breaker, it keeps it from being perfect. I cannot identify what the mystery ingredient is. This is so hearty that I often split a can with my wife and we pour it over Jasmine rice. I would highly recommend that people try this chili at least once, it is far superior to the canned chili brands offered in my local supermarket.

This canned chili has a nice full flavor (not excessively tomato-y or spicy) and is adequately meaty (even this version w/ beans). No surprises or mystery items floating around in it. I will add this one to my short list of pretty good canned chilis.

Dennison's chili is my favorite canned chili. They do not sell it in store where I live. I have bought it from Amazon around 8 times, since they are a good price. Half the time the cans are dented. The most recent ones had dents near the seam, which make them unsafe to eat. I love this chili, but it is a risk buying it here. I hope they improve the shipping, so I can purchase my favorite chili!

I decided to try this brand because it had the lowest sodium count if any other affordable canned option available. After tasting it for the first time, I am sold. It is absolutely going on my favorite reorders list! This has replaced my previous top favorite brand of premade chili.
