I have weak hands so sometimes I have trouble opening drink containers. What I found works with the Stanley IceFlow is to put my hand through the handle palm down, close my fingers on the outside of the container and twist to the left. If it is particularly hard to open, try hugging the container with your other arm close to your chest to hold the container tight. This works for me. To get the straw up, i put my fingers on the outside of the container, palm down and use my thumb to pull the straw toward the edge in a crosswise motion toward my fingers. You do not pull up on the straw lever, but toward your fingers. I hope this works for you as it does for me. I love this drink bottle and can get it open using this method better than I can open my Yeti screw top drink bottle. I can't get it open without help if it's had a cold drink inside. It has a side handle rather than the top handle like the Stanley.
