Five Stars Anyway
This bow is just what I expected. This bow arrived as pictured and described on the seller's page. It also matched the 4 and 5 star reviews. Why fives stars anyway? This bow arrived with the end tip ( where the bow string is attached ) completely off. It appears that this tip wasn't glued at the factory. However. I have glued this tip back in place and have to wait 24 hours for this repair. I liked this bow so much that, it wasn't worth the trouble to return it for this little repair. I don't know if my repair will stay on during use of the bow or not. I just got the bow today and cannot use it until the tip is fixed (24 hours). Amazon did discount the bow a little. If it works properly after the repair I will not return it. ( It is that much of a bow for the price ). I still give it five stars for its quality and price. I do believe this tip falling off is just a little oversight at the factory, which can happen on any manufactured product. I will advised you (the readers)more about this bow when I use it. By examination of this bow so far, I believe that it is a tough and rugged well made product for the price.... P.S. The glue that I put on the tip did not work. I have ordered another one and returning this bow. Just a manufacture's oversight, I guess. I do believe this is a very fine bow for the price... 10-12-13 I have received my new bow. I fully agree with the other 4 and 5 star reviewers. This is a fine bow for the price and for beginners. It shoots smooth and is very powerful and true up to about 40 to 50 feet, I haven't tried it at any greater distance yet. I am very satisfied with this bow and happy that I ordered the second one... 08-27-14 Still using this bow and it looks as the day that I received it. It appears that this bow gets better all the time or I have learned to shoot it. If you are interested in archery this is the bow to begin with, I'm telling you this item is made very well and no fault what-so-ever...

Great bow for beginners of all ages
If you are absolutely just starting out, read this review! Before buying a bow I was struggling looking for a review that related to me, so here are my specs. I'm in my early twenties, 5'8 150#. 28" draw This bow is perfect for a beginner. The # is just right for me to practice on correct form. (states 29#) It has enough power to get the arrows stuck in tree stumps (which might suck because your arrow tips might get wedged) The bow came with just the bow and the string, however items I believe are absolutely necessary for a beginner besides arrows, are a SHOOTING GLOVE to protect your fingers from damage, and a STRING NOCK. The bow is durable and sturdy, and easy to string without a stringer. The only CON about this bow is that the tips where the string is held on, are loose and can fall off when in storage. I glued mine with gorilla glue since that particular glue slightly expands as it cures, which will provide extra adhesion. I also found that I had to gorilla glue my arrow tips and nocks when they came off after shooting some stray shots. However other strong adhesives might do the job also. Overall this bow is worth the money, I spent ~$70 all together for this bow, 6 arrows, a 3 finger leather glove, arm guard, and a string knock. Not bad for a college student's budget, I will now be moving up to the Samick Sage, after a few more weeks of practice. Thank you Amazon

Great bow!
I bought two of these for my boys. I bought them the Bear starter bows a few years ago, they were great but they out grew them. They seemed to love archery with those bows as much as I love it. Then I got them the Crossman bows and those were complete junk, although they were very excited at first because they looked just like my take down recurve bows. Those bows would not even send an arrow a 1/16th of the distance they were shooting with there little bows. So I got them the Bear Titan Bows for a replacement. These are awsome bows for the money, way more powerful than my wifes expensive Cabela's 29lb bow that cost over $120. Very stout bows, a good material for children because wood is tempramental to how well you take care of the bow. These are a composite material that should last forever even if they forget them outside or get them wet. I would have rated this five stars but because the bows are so stout and powerful it is very difficult for my boys to pull the bow to their normal draw. So I took one star off for that because they said "youth bow for ages twelve and up". They are 11 and twelve and can't do it yet, so I guess they will have to grow into these a little more. I have already put them on an exercise routine to get their muscle built up. This would be a great adult starter bow. I have fun shooting them and I own several very expensive bows up to the 65lb draw weight at 28" range. My draw length is 30"-31" and I find these bows able to handle that, at I would guess at around 30-32lb draw weight. Great bow, far exceeded my expectations. Like I said, it is was for me and not my kids it would have been an easy five stars.

Good bow, but not as pictured and pieces missing.
The bow was grey, not green as pictured. The target, arm guard, and quiver was not included.

Great Bow!
I always have people coming over looking to shoot my bows. I am always hesitant because non experienced people always seem to so something that damages the bows. It never fails for one guy in the group to dry fire it before you can catch them. So I bought this bow because fiberglass bows are pretty much bulletproof. Also it will last a lifetime and my kids will eventually grow into it. The bow is nice and sturdy. It was just what I was looking for. It came in grey instead of green ... but that I can live with. The handle to me is comfortable. The bow has a great look to it. When I started shooting it I was amazed at how well it spit out the arrows. It is was faster than I had expected! I was shooting tighter groups than I have all summer with other bows. I love this thing! As others have said though ... if you buy this. Buy a replacement string with it. A real string .. not the type that comes with this bow. It broke on me the very first day. A real string will only increase the performance of the bow anyway... so just grab one. I have not had the problem with the nocks falling off as others have stated. I tried to pull mine off and they wouldn’t budge. Perhaps they have fixed that issue? I wish these solid fiberglass bows would come back into production at hunting level draw weight. No doubt that this bow would be able to take game... but not legally. We need a company to manufacture solid fiberglass affordable bows with a heavier draw weight and made in the USA. I think people would be all over it.

VERY pleased with this bow!!
My first bow decades ago was a Bear Archery Recurve Bow, a red one, with a molded black rubber grip - and I loved it. I finally lost that bow during a relocation move. Since, I have been using an old Locksley bow(65# pull), and enjoyed that for hunting. However, I have moved to where I need a lower pound pull bow for target practice, as I have neighbors rather close to me here. So glad I found the Bear Titan Bow. Very similar to my first bow by Bear, just as sturdy, just as sweet, just as much pure fun to shoot... and just as easy to string. I also picked up arrows weighted and sized for this bow's pull and draw, just for target shooting and practice. The string seems a bit cheap, already beginning to fray, but that's an inexpensive fix to replace it. As it is, I am one VERY happy customer!! Bear makes wonderful recurve bows, at an excellent price! Looking forward to decades more of happy shooting.

Perfect backyard bow
I have several bows, including sticks, compounds and recurves. I have started and ran an archery club for college students, and I've taught many people(adults and children both) to shoot. This bow is no frills, no nonsense, basic bow. It doesn't shoot as fast or as flat as my high performance hunting bows, but it shoots. It is very lightweight, easy to string, easy to draw and tons of fun for backyard shooting. It isn't for hunting, it isn't for competitions. If you get one that has delaminated coating, like an earlier reviewer, I wouldn't stand for that and immediately return it for one that isn't defective. Mine arrived in perfect condition and has stood up to some heavy use and abuse. I will be looking to get some funding for my student archery club, with which I'll buy about a dozen more of these(along with a few others) but this will be my workhorse bow for my students.

Bow is fine, not the extras
Only buy this as a set if the price is better than the bow by itself. The arrows, shooting tab and quiver are useless. The arm guard is functional if it fits your arm - it doesn't fit mine. The target is usable for as long as any paper target would be usable. First, make sure you know how to string the bow. By this I mean that you understand which direction the bow is supposed to bend. It has a slight recurve to it. If you think the string it came with is too short, you're probably doing it the wrong way. I also suspect this is the cause for the tips coming off. Strung properly the force of the string should press them onto the limbs. Strung incorrectly, I could imagine the tips being pulled straight off the limbs. Speaking of the string, you can get started with the one it comes with, but as soon as possible you should take the bow to your local shop and get a real string and have them put a nock indicator on it. While you're there you can buy some proper arrows with feathers instead of flights. I shoot a 30" Easton XX75. I also shoot some Carbon Express 30" arrows with flights - despite my advice above to the contrary. They have different weights, so I have to adjust, and they kick out a little more, but at distance they flatten out mostly ok. I just adjust my aim and it's all good. I don't use an arm guard nor a shooting tab or glove. If the string is hitting your arm it's usually because there is something wrong with your form. While you're at the archery shop set up a lesson or two. Make sure it's someone who knows how to teach recurve. One or two hour long sessions could really help if you are having trouble hitting the target or being consistent. I'm able to shoot this bow at 20 yards (indoor range), with a mixed quiver of the aforementioned arrows, into an 8" group. They penetrate into the target block about 6" with 100 grain field points. It's not legal to hunt with this, but it could certainly be lethal, especially with broadheads. Many a deer has been harvested with a bow of this poundage or less. Handle with care and observe safety protocols at all times. Since its made out of fiberglass, it should last for a good long time. Never dry fire and always let it down by removing the string when finished. Store it flat. With a little practice, and a lesson or two if you need it, this bow (not the extras) should bring you many, many hours of enjoyment.
