Thank you for your interest in Cuddle & Coo by Adora. The three pieces are the top, bottom, and mechanism. Please note that the doll comes in try-me mode and you need to switch the mechanism to on for all 5 sounds. We do this for a longer lifetime of the battery. Also, note that the retail is $59.99. I would say yes to both questions.

Q: Is all the talking and the sounds "clean" and avoid obscenities?

I bought one - only 3 of the 5 animations worked - returned it and took a replacement - same issue didn't work correctly
