HAZEL Galvanized Metal Onion Potato Storage Container For Kitchen (Red & Grey, Garlic & Potato), 1.2 Kilograms

I ordered this set of canisters to protect my potatoes from light and from onions stored on my counter. I’ve found that I can safely store potatoes and onions within about 12-18” from each other when stored in these canisters. The garlic doesn’t bother potatoes or onions so I set that canister between the potatoes and onions. The canisters have a weird smell at first as others have mentioned. But, I washed them before filling them up and the smell was gone within a week. It didn’t affect the produce.I can fit 9 large potatoes in the potato canister, 3 large onions in the onion canister, and a lot of garlic and ginger in the garlic canister (I don’t buy enough to fill it up). They are just the right size for my husband and I.

These containers and strong and well made. They look exactly like they do in the pictures. The design is great, but the potato container is too small. It will only hold about 8-10 smaller potatoes. If you buy large bags of potatoes and only use a few at a time, these may not work for you. The onion and garlic container are well sized for storage.

You get what you see but the smell of the canister have a terrible smell to them,trying to soak them in soapy hot water to see if it helps.

They were smaller than I expected.
