ANNIE, the story of everyone’s favorite plucky, red-haired orphan, finally makes the leap from Broadway to Blu-ray™! One day Annie (Aileen Quinn) is chosen to stay for a week with the famous billionaire “Daddy” Warbucks (Albert Finney). One week turns into many, and the only person standing in the way of Annie’s fun is Miss Hannigan, the tyrannical ruler of the orphanage (played to hilarious perfection by Carol Burnett). Will Miss Hannigan’s zany attempts to kidnap the irrepressible Annie succeed? Sing along with the unforgettable songs and experience the beloved musical like never before! Review: Annie - OMG I loved this film as a kid and now I am 24 I still love it and I don't think that will ever change. Annie is a well known story of a little orphan girl living in New York which is run by a drunk woman called Miss Hannigan. Annie has always dreamed that her true parents, would one day show up and claim her, and that they will have a big house and lots of money. However when Annie goes to stay with Oliver Warbucks a millionaire Miss Hannigan and her brother decide to pretend to be Annie's parents (Mr and Mrs Mudge) and kidnapp Annie for the reward money Mr Warbucks is offering to Annie's real parents. Annie has many adventures and encounters a number of colourful characters. This is an uplifting and heart-warming film which will delight everyone. If you have not seen it you are missing out on an amazing movie Review: Good Value - A brand new item for a favorable cost.

Unbeatablle
Bought this for a granddaughter's birthday . She had watched bits of the DVD in our house , and had been totally captivated ( as have all the grandchildren ). We love it too , and have enjoyed it for quite a few years . All right , it's a bit syrupy , sentimental , too good to be true , but so what ! It's just very entertaining , and happy . I guarantee that you will not be able to watch it without a smile . Very good acting too .

Feelgood Family Film
This is a nice little family film with a feelgood vibe. The young orphan Annie (Aileen Quinn) manages to escape from her orphanage and brings cheer to the life of billionaire businessman Oliver Warbuck (Albert Finney). The rags to riches story isn't new, but it's nice to see a ballsy girl as the lead character. And thankfully one who wins over everybody's hearts with her personality rather than angelic good looks. Also rather fun is Mrs Hannigan (Carol Burnett), who runs the orphanage. Thankfully it's not an evil nun this time but an (equally evil) alcoholic slattern. As musicals go I didn't find any of the songs particularly memorable, but they're pleasant enough. The same goes for the singing performances. The choreography, on the other hand is rather excellent. The cast is solid, especially Carol Burnett who is hilariously OTT (and colourful in every sense of the word). Aileen Quinn is likable as Annie, Tim Curry is fun in a rather small supporting role and it's always nice to see Albert Finney (almost unrecognizable here with a clean shaven head). Not John Huston's best film, but if you're looking for a bit of light entertainment and escapism for a long Sunday afternoon you could do a lot worse than this.

Childhood Memories of a 78 Year Old.
I really enjoyed it.When I was aged about 10 my Greataunt gave me the book Daddy Longlegs which is what Annie was loosely based on..Annie was very well played and I loved listening to her when she was grown up,talking about her memories.Albert Finney was very good and it was interesting watching.him growing to love Annie.Because of all the memories of my childhood I have bought the books "Daddy Longlegs", "What Katie Did"and "What Katie Did Next".I am 78 years old and it is wonderful that these books and the film have lived up to my expectations.Classics such as these will never die.

Annie Original Better than the Reboot
Arrived quick, well packaged and plays fine. Right, we all went to see the Jamie Foxx reboot recently then I thought I'd show my daughters the orginal which I loved when I was 10 and, to my amazement, my daughters also prefer it. Annie/Aileen Quinn is more "gutsy" and the songs are better (though I loved Cameron Diaz as Miss Hannigan in the reboot). Great cast and choreography and a lovely family film for a wet half term.

Great film - not a great copy
Review for the Aileen Quinn - Special Anniversary Edition DVD First off, I adore this film. I burnt out multiple VHS copies and decided I needed a DVD version in order to share this wonderful with some of the younger members of my family (particularly one who enjoyed the 2014 remake). The film itself is great, perfect for children and any adults who enjoy a great musical. No it isn't exactly identical to the stage version that it is based on, however, I actually prefer this version. THAT BEING SAID - there are sections of speech/song in this movie that are either made unnecessarily quiet or silenced completely. During 'Hard Knock Life', a lot of Molly's speech is affected by this, which to someone who knows the film almost word for word, it is seriously irritating. If you've never seen it before, you probably wont even notice; but for fans, it can get fairly annoying.
