Though I lined up the cover properly, and with the bottom tab seated inside the lip of the compartment, popping it back wasn't just a snap...meaning not easy. However, it is a tight seal when secured. For me, the width is perfect for my KelTec Sub2K Gen 3. I installed the light right in front of my angled foregrip...with a slight gap between. This allows for easy access to the toggle control via my index finger. And being wider than a pistol trigger guard, the foregrip actually provides a degree of side-impact protection for the toggle control...without hindering operation.
