Question 1

How much does this megaphone weigh?

Accepted Answer

It's approximately five pounds. What are you planning on using it for?

Question 2

How long the batteries last if megaphone used all day?

Accepted Answer

It works quite well...we don't use ours all day, but we haven't had to change batteries yet, and we use ours 5xweek for about 3 hours each day.

Question 3

Is there a rechargeable battery pack that comes with this . . .I would buy it if it did. . .

Accepted Answer

I purchased this megaphone 2 years ago. It takes 8 C batteries to operate. There is no rechargeable battery pack for this megaphone, that I'm aware of. I use the megaphone probably 8-10 times a year, and when I use it, it is for a full day. I'm still using the original set of batteries I purchased to operate the megaphone. At the end of the day when I've been using it, I take the batteries out and put them in a bag and let the battery case area dry out (I often have to use the megaphone in wet conditions). It has worked very well during this time following these procedures. I've had the megaphone out in extremely wet conditions during which I've tape a plastic bag over the speaker/battery area at the end and cut the rest of the bag off. The megaphone works well during this as well. My biggest complaint about the megaphone is that it is heavy. It is also large. I would prefer a smaller, lighter model, but this thing works and it is loud, so it gets the job done.

Question 4

Is the megaphone waterproof?

Accepted Answer

No, that Megaphone is not waterproof. When the microphone gets wet it will stop working. However, once dry it worked again. I used it in the rain and in leaky jon boats. The solution was to wrap the microphone in plastic when it rains and avoid getting the microphone wet. The alternative was to purchase a real waterproof megaphone at 4x the cost. Actually my biggest complaint about that megaphone was the switch that toggled between siren, voice, and whistle. It was way too easy to bump it.
