The ageless classic continues to be the best
Harrison's continues to be the best book for medical students learning Internal Medicine and a complete reference book for practicing physicians. The new formatting and colored charts and images are the best so far , compared to previous editions , this edition really enhances the learning experience. I hope that any future edition of the DVD will have better navigation links. The textbook is excellent; the DVD leaves room for improvement. Overall: a must have in any clinician's library. Excellent book
Very detailed. Large scope, covering much of the breadth and depth of internal medicine. After reading, can be kept as a reference even after your medical school years

Great Reference!
I consult this reference nearly every day as a Family Nurse Practitioner student. I was borrowing a copy from the library, but used it so often I decided I needed my own. This used version came in excellent condition and saved me a ton of money. I am very pleased!

Great book, good updates
Harrison has continued its tradition in providing the best class of textbooks in this new edition. Definitely worth the amount to go for the new edition. The DVD that comes with the book has some interesting material too. Still trying to learn about all the great aspects of this book. Thumbs up all the way

Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine
This is an excellent medical textbook. It provides superb epidemiological appproaches to diseases, good descriptions of disease processes, and explains diagnostic procedures clearly. Would definitely recommend this for all serious medical students and interns.

If you really need seriously indepth knowledge..
I am a PA student and bought this book as part of my required texts. I thought I would use it extensively, but the truth is that this book is immense and impossible to carry around. It easily weighs 10 pounds. As far as the quality of the writing, it is good, top of the line in fact. There is practically no medical question you can ask that will not be answered in this book. But just to study and to understand the cause and treatment of disease I prefer the Current series by Lang. Anything that you really need to know is in Lang and it is considerably more portable and readable.

Kindle Version
I just bought the kindle edition. It seems to be working ok except for the search feature and the index (in the back of the book) is not hyperlinked making it completely useless. The figures on kindle have poor contrast but they are readable, especially when zoomed - but the figures take some concentrating on because of the poor contrast quality. I contacted amazon and they are looking into the search problem. I will contact amazon again and ask if they will look in to the index not being hyperlinked. I imagine the search problem may have to do with the massive size of this book 128 mb (i'd recommend NOT using whispernet for this one) The search feature is related to a digital search index (similar to google desktop indexing your computer). There is obviously a bug with this step causing the search error. EDIT: I think they removed the kindle version from the website until the search feature bug is figured out. My hunch is it is a firmware problem and not a e-book problem.
