Spigen Neo Hybrid Designed for Galaxy Note 9 Case (2018) - Ocean Blue

I absolutely love this case! I've been through half a dozen to find the just right case for my Note 9 and this is it! I want to start out saying this is a very high quality and feeling case for the money. It fits the phone like a glove and it feels really good in the hands with a very nice and grippy surface. And if you have the Ocean Blue Note 9 this case is an absolute perfect match to it! UPDATE 6 MONTHS LATER! The case still looks brand new and is by far the best phone case that I've ever bought! I used to only buy OtterBox and after having to spend $70-80 for their cases that literally only lasted three to four months before the rubber was badly stretched and I'll fitting, I thought that there had to be a better solution. And when I saw this Spigen Neo Hybrid case that beautifully matched my phone I had to give it a try and at $17.95 this case is an incredible value! It fits perfect even after six months of daily use and looks like new. Also I've had two really bad drops (one from around 4ft and the other from 6ft onto a super bad rough surface with this case on my phone and the case came away with only a "tiny" little mark on the trim and that's it! The second drop from 6ft ended up landing so hard on the bottom edge that it ejected the S Pen completely out of the phone and bounced back up and landed hard face down. I don't run a screen protector because I haven't found one that I like but even without one this case properly protected my screen and it came away unharmed. I'm a Spigen customer from now on and I'm constantly telling people to not hesitate to buy the Neo Hybrid. I even converted an OtterBox buyer at Best Buy and he decided to put the OtterBox back and get a Spigen after I showed him my case. I love this case so much I want to collect the other colors just to change things up when I want! In short, Spigen makes the best case available for Samsung Phone's!

For the price, seriously don't look further! I paired this with a good screen protector for the front face. The two combined keep my very expensive phone safe and sexy at the same time. The case does not hinder or block the curved screen at all, it doesn't mess with my screen protector, and the buttons fit perfectly. The case does not cover the microphone, pen, speaker, headphone jack, or charging port. But best of all, if I put my phone front face down, the case provides JUST enough buffer between the surface so that my screen never actually hits the surface (you can see this in some of the other photos posted). It looks EXACTLY as pictured. I love the blue and yellow, it's just quirky enough without drawing too much attention, plus it matches my phone scheme. This case is super thin compared to others on the market. However it is still super durable and most importantly, it actually protects my phone from falls and other casual bumps and dings. I dropped my phone the next day on a tile counter and then it bounced onto the hardwood floor and I am impressed... NOT ONE DING OR SCRATCH. Am I lucky? Probably. But without this case I dare say I'd be a bit less happy today than I was yesterday.

My previous case was a tough armor Spigen on an iPhone 6. Overtime the back color of the phone wore out and the white plastic showed underneath. It would also scratch very, very easily even with a fingernail. This new case has the same material around the edges but it has been vastly improved. It scratches much less easily but now it doesn't feel as grippy but there are still improvements to be made. Even on my new case, white corners have started to appear because of repeated use. It makes the case look old much more quickly than other cases. I do have to say that this case is still very strong at keeping the phone secure. The case itself might not look as nice in a year, but the phone will be immaculate. I've dropped this thing multiple times and I've had no damage on my phone. Great case, I just wish it was a little more scratch resistant.

Great case. I was hesitant at 1st that a cheap case fit would not be a precise fit. But it does all of this very well. So strait to it - Pros & Cons. Pros: +Thin enough for wireless charging (tested on older Samsung S7 [EP-PG920] and new Samsung Qi Fast Charge Stand [EP-N5100] + Lip covers all the glass edges that is sensitive to cause breakage. +Slide lip coverage does not interfere registering touches on the very edge of the screen + Fingerprint Sensor cutout is at an angle to give full contact (flat) acess to you finger. + Cutouts are big enough to pull out S-Pen, plug any audio jack and USB-C. + Top a bottom has a raised lip keep the screen from touching the table surface if you place the phone facedown. + The hard part of the case has a tactile grippy feel. The soft part is not squishy and is firm. + The back feel smother that it looks, makes it easy to move & reposition the long Note 9 in your hand. + Vol button is split, clean separation of Vol up/dwn. Cons: (mostly cosmetics for us OCD clean feaks) - The small tight "tire tred" design can trap small grains of dirt/sand (pictured). Requires a needle to pick it out. - The back slightly show "grease" smudging for you hand & fingers. It's very slight but noticable by clean feaks. Pro And Con: -/+ Nature of a curved screen will guide dirt to get trapped in edges. The tight case fit makes it difficult to clean it out. -/+ Does not protect much of the curved side parts of the a screen. Slim cases aren't made for that or they wouldn't be thin.

What I wanted in a case I got with this Spigen. I had an Otterbox Defender and although it's a great case, I did not like the bulk. I decided to try this Spigen and it is meeting my needs. It's a slim case with a shock absorbing liner. I'm not sure what the material on the back is. It's not a tacky rubber, but feels hard without the give of rubber and is textured. None of the material that makes up the case, including the metal is slippery and the phone is easy to grasp without worrying that it will slip out of my hand. All of the cutouts are perfectly placed and I have no problem plugging in the USB cable. Even though having a case on the Note is bound to make it more difficult to access the S-Pen, I have no trouble getting it out. Everyone who wants a case has different wants and needs, but if you prefer a slim case that gives enough protection to protect your phone if it's dropped, then I feel that any of the Spigen cases will fill your needs.

So I’ve tried 3 other note9 cases. Been eye balling this one. It looked more prettythan durable (burgandy and gold). So after 3 cases not working out, my friend saidi should just get this since i keep looking at it. So i did. First if all, its as pretty as the pics. Second, fits like a glove and doesnt block speakers and enough room around all ports. Third, its slim indeed, but durable. More durable than expected. It doesnt feel cheap. It feels strong yet slim and stylish. Not only that. The buttons are easy to push. Ive bought cases where the buttons on the case that cover your buttons are hard to push to get a response. If i ever ruin this case somehow, i will replace it with this same exact one. SOLD!

I had a Neo Hybrid for my S9+ and loved it to death. So when I upped to a Note 9, I was thrilled to see they designed one to go with the yellow S-Pen. The Neo Hybrid goes on so easy. It fits the phone perfectly and has a second layer of protection with the yellow plastic insert that really gives the case a lot of support and premium feel. I dropped this case on solid concrete, parking lot, hardwood, tile, and pretty much every surface known to end a phone's life. (paired with a tempered glass protector of course) and my phone is still like new. And somehow....So is the case!! So the build quality and look of the case is perfect. I dare say, as good as an OtterBox. I do want a few other cases to switch up the look, but my Neo Hybrid...I don't know if I'll ever replace it as the favorite! UPDATE (04/24/19): I've had this case for 3 months now. Just recently dropped it and a piece of the plastic yellow frame broke off on the bottom and the frame cracked at the top corner. Also, my S-Pen split in half during the collision. Had to order a replacement pen. The case should have prevented that! I used to think this case was the best around. But it just didn't hold up near as long as it should've. I had a Neo Hybrid for my S9+ and it held up beautifully for way longer. I still give Spigen props for the beautiful design and color choice. The phone itself is still fine after several drops and that's what counts. But I am beginning to question how much more the case can take before it taps out for good or causes damage to the phone itself.

Another Update (Oct 15 2019) - Another saved phone! My replacement Spigen case saved my Note 9 at least 4 times since my last update. I know because each corner of the case was smashed and the phone is still working perfectly. I am very hard on phones. When I re-ordered this time I went for the Ron Burgundy color and it's very striking. Really love this case. Absolutely unfair that I can't give this thing more than 5 stars. Thanks Soooo Much Spigen! (Note: The gold plate in the pic below was added as part of a magnetic window mount for the Note 9 - it isn't part of the Spigen case) Update (November 2018): Well Spigen saves the day! I dropped my stupid expensive Note 9. The thing landed on a corner. My case broke but the Phone was totally fine (see pic). Spigen saved me a big pile of cash! New Spigen case arrived today. Thanks Spigen. Original Review: This case feels extra premium and looks amazing. The Note 9 is a ridiculously slippery phone. The phone is slick as oil and it's heavy. Guaranteed 100% you will drop this phone multiple times. The curved glass is extremely fragile. This phone is just a disaster waiting to smack the pavement at every turn. I know because I dropped mine and shattered the screen. I put the replacement in this Spigen case (and put on some Ghost Armor). Now the case has a bit of grip. Buttons work perfect. The curved glass is not covered but a tiny bit of a bumper at top and bottom keep the glass from touching the ground when it lands face down. One time it did fall off a table onto cement and Spigen saved the day. I'm probably not cut out to own a $1000 phone with curved glass but at least with Spigen on the job there's some hope it will last a while.
