Raptors in Captivity: guidelines for care & management

The book was much, much better than advertised. It's condition was noted as "good for reference only" with a scuffed and torn binding. The book arrived looking as if it had been sent driectly from the publisher. It was very well packaged and promptly shipped. The seller should be awarded more than five stars. I would highly recommend this seller.

This book is an outstanding resource for caring for captive raptors. I work with non-releasable raptors doing educational outreach programs. The book is well organized and illustrated. I learned many things the first time I skimmed through it that will improve the well being of birds in our care. There are many parts I will look back at for specific information as needed. It is very thorough on health checks which was of particular interest to me. I'm sure I will frequently use this book as long as I am in my present job, and I will pass it along to the next person who is responsible for the raptor care.

This an excellent reference book! A must-have for any rehabilitator or educator working with captive birds of prey ( it is written primarily for the educator with non releasable birds of prey). It gives a basic description of temperament and care requirements for the most common raptors kept for programming, necessary equipment and more. I have used it as a reference time and time again.

I cant recommend this book enough. It has clear, concise instructions for raptor management. It should be required reading for anyone who works with Birds of Prey-especially those who work with educational or display birds!

The book is a great resource. The info in the book has help me understand raptors, along with info on recognizing how to help keep the raptors healthy, how much food to feed them and how to keep them happy. Very informative.

It was what I expected, this was a replacement , lost my other one!As a a raptor wildlife rehabber, I use this information almost every day!

a must have for anyone overseeing the care of raptors in a captive setting. as someone who oversees the care of about 14 non-releasable raptors for educational purposes, this book has come in handy for reference time and again, and very useful as well for training new handlers/caretakers/volunteers in our raptor program.
