I am 55. I hiked 5 miles with my dad in East Tennessee on rocky moderate trails. These boots were sturdy. My ankles didn’t roll and I did not slip or fall. These shoes gave me the perfect support all day. No hot spots or blisters. I did wear hiking socks. I did need to order 1/2 size up to make space for the thick socks. I love these boots. I met others on the trail who have the same boots for over 10 years. They are an investment in your adventure. I tried on many others at a REI store. These fit and felt the best at a very reasonable price.
