Please be noted this inspection camera does NOT work with iPhone or iPadNOTE: The package Not including OTG CABLE Review: Great little tool - This device saved my tail when the pictured brass grommet fell from the linkage on a jetboat carburetor bank while I was reassembling it (and the other 5 on the boat). The grommet disappeared and I spent a couple of hours trying to find it in the engine compartment, knowing it could have fallen into the carburetor mount or under the engine. I was on the verge of completely removing the bank of carburetors I had just put back in hoping to find it, when I thought of ordering one of these on prime. It still took me an hour to find it, but I saved the work of removing the bank when this finally appeared as a bright gold ring hiding in a completely inaccessible place beneath the engine. The stiff wire let me nose up to the ring and push the grommet far enough to remove with a fingertip. I'm not even sure I could have replaced this part since the boat is almost 20 years old. I did not install the software recommended by the seller because it was invasive in the information it wanted from my Android and it only rated 2 stars on Google play. OTG View rated 3.1 and asked for no permissions, and it worked immediately. I have not tried the features out so I cannot comment on them, but I am delighted with how it let me explore dark nooks and crannies and helped push the lost object into a retrievable location. The length of the cable is also a plus. It took me a couple of minutes to "open" the swivel adapter to use the Android USB connection hidden inside the USB fitting, but if you look at the pictures in the accompanying pamphlet, it works just like you would guess it would, with the USB connection flipping up and out of the way. I've dropped so much stuff in out of the way places over the last 50 or so years, I sure wish these had always been so reasonably priced! I'm sure I will find plenty of uses for it in the future. Review: Cheap and very useful - This scope is extremely long, very cheap, and comes in clutch more times than I can recall. The view is a bit shaky on a phone screen, and it can be difficult to orient and steer the camera facing the way you need it. After extended use, the light on the lens becomes quite hot, but can be controlled with rolling switch. This thing does the exact same job that a Milwaukee or other name brand scopes do at a fraction of the cost, with slightly less resolution. For the cost, I would buy this over the others time and time again.

Ok but not great
I bought this specifically to use as a borescope on firearms. It works OK for my needs, once I figured out how to make it work. Step one, ignore any instructions, enclosed or at the 'guaranteed spyware' website they direct you to, use the 'camera' app on Windows 10. Step 2, don't try and make it work on your android phone, it isn't recognized due to 'reasons' (probably defective wiring within the unit). Step 3, don't try and use it for 22 rimfire, it won't fit the barrel. Step 4, don't spend much time looking for all of the 'enclosed attachments' that are shown in the paperwork - they aren't really there, that's just Chinese humor, sending you off looking through the package. They also got a laugh out of calling it an earpick and included diagrams of someone sticking it into their ear. If that's your intent, just straighten out a paperclip and use it, that way you can head straightaway to the ER and bypass the entire shopping experience. The photo is what the bore of a 1950 (pre-chrome bore) SKS looks like.

Works on Windows 10 laptop, Kindle Fire HD 10, not on Android 4.1 phone
Needed something like this to help retrieve some items lost in the depths of my boat. Got this unit to work with my HP laptop very easily.. Simply plug the scope in a USD port, and locate and open the 'Camera' app (in the Start menu), and it immediately shows the picture on the screen. Sweet. I did not have any luck using it with my cellphone which is why only 4 stars. I installed the AN98 app to my phone from Google Play but it didn't open. I guess it doesn't run on Android 4.1. A lot of other things don't either. I also got it work on my Kindle HD Fire 10, but it was rather involved. First had to load Google Play store and then download a camera app. I tried Realvisor endo and it does work. For $20 or whatever, I can't really complain. It works well enough for me to get my project done. A few other random notes: The camera itself is quite small. Smaller than a pencil in diameter. The tools that snap on the end are very small also. Haven't tried them yet.. And cord is semi-rigid as advertised. Can be bent, and holds its shape. So hopefully I don't have to tape it to a stick or coat hanger to get it where it needs to go.

640x480 max Res
640x480 is all I could get to work on my s8. Tried a few apps but no luck any higher, far from what's advertised. The light on the front bleeds into the camera a bit making your picture a bit more white. Good otherwise, would have a higher rating if the description didnt straight up lie on the resolution.

Light does not work -- cannot view into parts to inspect.
The LED light came on and then went off and if it is wiggled just right it will come on but won't stay on. Needless to say when trying to use to inspect the inside of a manufactured part and the light doesn't stay on there is no way to see inside. Cannot use because if even moved slightly the light goes off and to be able to use the device in small spots or at all it has to be picked up and handled. We are not happy with this device and if we could return it for a refund we would. But we didn't try to use this device until now, when we really needed it...it doesn't work. Very unhappy and now we are forced to buy something else. We do NOT recommend!!!! We hoped Made in China would not be another doesn't work story.
