I used this as a spice grinder, so can't speak to what it would do with coffee. I used it to make a pepper powder. There were many different type of peppers from non-spicy bell to the most spicy being habanero (beyond this peppers aren't about flavor, just how much heat). I dehydrated the peppers to start in my dehydrator. Then I blitzed small batches in a smaller food processor. Some almost got to powder, but enough was a bit more than large flake. But definitely smallish. This worked great to make powder. For a little less time I could have done a good flake size. I had no issues with overheating despite many small batches. I was outside due to spicy peppers and not wanting spicy cloud inside. (Wind and outdoor air flow helps disperse better, rather than lingering spicy indoors.) However this meant it was much cooler. It was 34-35F outside, so just above freezing. This likely helped cool motor to keep it working. Being able to throw the grinding parts and lids in the dishwasher was great! Made clean up way easier than having to do the cleaning by hand. For the money it was a great buy.

I've been using this to grind through 8 pounds of dried red chili to make "crushed chili" for seasoning. It works well, and I appreciate the separate grinding chamber. It's not the cheapest grinder, but I'd say it's worth the added cost. You just push the button, take the outer casing off, then take the cap off. It's really easy to use, but it's two layers to take it apart. This is actually desirable with very hot little chilis - unless you like sneezing. The only drawback, and it's not worth deducting a point, is that the clear plastic will get marred and will eventually not serve the purpose of being able to see what you're grinding (again, important when working with hot chilis).

Been using this everyday for months, works well, grinds coffee beans quickly. It's not that load which is good.
