Highly Recommend
This is insanely good. It goes in smooth, but gives you that gritty texture and lift you can only get from a clay. The hold is firm but never stiff, and the finish is actually matte. No weird shine, no crunch, and it remains workable all day. It recommends you use a blow dryer after applying to improve volume, but I personally found it to work perfectly with just a couple pumps and a comb. So easy. Incredible product.

Good product, terrible pump
The pump doesn't work at all with this. Not sure what happened or if I just got a faulty product, but the pump is completely useless and I've pumped it about 100 times at this point. Overall, the product itself (outside of the pump issue) is top-notch. The unscented version smells like eucalyptus which I absolutely love. This product is lightweight with a build buildable hold. Normally my hair needs a half to one pump of the original enigma, but due to the faulty pump, I'm having to guess at how much to use which is annoying. I love this product and the scent. You won't be disappointed in the formula- you will be disappointed with the pump.

The Best Hair Product Yet.
Great hold. Great fragrance. A barber used it in my hair and I loved it. I’ve been using it for years now.

Ditch the pump or make it better
For almost 30 bucks, we really shouldn’t have problems getting our product out of the container lol Not only does the pump get clogged regularly, but once you get to the end, you have no way of scraping out the excess product on the sides/bottom of the container. This means you’re throwing away a decent amount of product because you can’t get to it. All that said, when you can get the product out of the bottle, it works very well.

Use a small amount!
If you don’t want your hair to look overly gelled, use a small amount, smaller than you probably expect. Does provide some good volume and control

I don't go a day without this magic elixir in my hair
I have frizzy hair, with an awkward cowlick, and I have a very high maintenance hairstyle (quiff), so the process of styling and finding the right product is a chase for the Holy Grail. This is by far the best prestyler I have ever tried, and no matter what hair style or finishing products I use on any given day, it always begins with a pump of Enigma. Smells great, applies smooth - even in my tangled mess - has just the right amount of hold. May Lockhart's never cancel this product line - PLEASE.

Not quite what I expected, but good.
I'm a huge Lockharts fan and have been for over a decade now. I started using their pomades back when all they had were their basic oil based line. They've since dropped some absolutely awesome products. Enigma has been on my radar for a few years since it came out, but I only just recently starting implementing the use of a hair drier to justify giving it a shot. In my younger years, I was too lazy to use one, but getting into a new stage of my life I've decided the extra control I can get with a drier is worth it, and with short hair it really only adds maybe 30 seconds to my styling. So I grabbed some Enigma to see how it's "heat activated" hold works out. First thing I noticed, this is the first scent from Lockharts I haven't enjoyed. It's VERY synthetic, and doesn't smell good to me in the slightest. Their site shows that they make it in Unscented but it hasn't been available. Honestly, I think they need to keep the Unscented around at all times, because this scent is not good. They'd have been better off pouring a splash of Axe Body Spray into these things for fragrance. I would describe the scent of this product as a cross between a cheap Walmart cologne and a that strong chemical smell you get hit in the face with whenever walking into a nail salon. The performance is good. Not what I expected, but good. Based on how the product is described, I expected a bit more of a natural looking finish. This product reminds me more of a pomade than a matte product. It also hardens in my hair with the use of a drier, so it ends up feeling kind of like a hair gel once heat activated but without the crispy flakiness of a gel. If used without heat, this product acts like a light cream which gives it some versatility. Overall, this is a 3/5 with the fragrance. An unscented version would be a 4/5.
