Aqara 2K Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera G100, HomeKit Secure Video, White

Great value camera with loads of features for the price I’ve been really impressed with the Aqara G100 so far. For the price, it offers way more than I was expecting. The 2K picture quality is sharp and clear both during the day and at night, and the wide viewing angle means it covers a large area without needing to constantly reposition it. I’m using it outside and it’s handled typical UK weather without any issues. The night vision works well, and the colour mode with the spotlight is especially useful for identifying people properly rather than just seeing a black-and-white outline. What I really like is the flexibility — it works with smart home systems and also supports local storage with an SD card, so you’re not forced into paying for a subscription just to use it properly. Setup was straightforward, and the app is easy enough to use once you’ve had a quick look around. The build does feel fairly lightweight, but once it’s mounted you don’t really notice and it hasn’t affected performance at all. Audio is fine for what it’s meant to do — you can hear clearly enough and talk through the camera if needed. Overall, for the price, this is a great little camera. If you want something with good picture quality, lots of features, and no ongoing fees, it’s hard to beat. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a decent indoor/outdoor security camera without spending a fortune.

I have a variety of homekit compatible cameras in my home all connected to Apple Homekit. Out of the devices i have used, Aqara have so far been the most reliable and cheapest, this camera is no exception. The price first and foremost is actually very good. Compared to some other (Eve) cameras i have which are triple or quadruple this price. The feature set and functionality of the G100 blows the other (Eve) cameras out of the water I have only used this camera inside so i cannot comment on its performance outside. The camera is small in size and nicely fits on top of my bookshelf. I have my camera angled down quite a bit which made it a bit top heavy and fall over, nothing a bit of blu tack can't fix though. The camera picture quality is fine, nothing to rave about, but its just fine. Something very important to note is, if you use this camera with Apple Home, the picture quality will be limited to 1080p only. Even if you have it added into the Aquara app, 1080p is the max you can go. Unsure why it works in this way as i have another Aquara camera (G5 Pro) which does support a variety of resolutions via the Aquara app. I have been told this is due to Homekit limitations on this specific camera. If you want to view the camera in 2K, you will need to use the aqara app ONLY! The mic and speaker again, nothing to really rave about, but they are more than adequate while using inside (cannot comment on outside noise) Speech can be picked up and speaking through the camera is perfectly legible The spotlight is quite handy, though not very bright so i doubt it would illuminate too much when used outside. Personally i don't have a need to use the spotlight indoors but, it's nice to have. Night vision is pretty decent and has a good range. In my room i have it in it can very clearly see the whole room, i suggest with larger rooms, it may struggle to capture the full length while in night vision but your mileage may vary A USB C to C cable is provided, albeit, a short cable and does not come with a plug. The plugs used to charge your phone will be able to power this camera just fine. The pairing process to add the camera to my home was super easy, scan a QR and finish setup, no issues there. Overall a great little camera and i will definitely be getting more to replace all my other cameras inside

Excellent camera, but power consumption is high Very good quality camera overall. The picture quality is excellent and it has never dropped signal during my use. Motion detection is accurate and it reliably notifies me of both humans and animals, which is a big plus. The main downside is the power consumption. It draws quite a lot of power, so a small solar panel has not been able to keep it charged consistently. In my experience it really needs mains power, or a much higher-output solar panel with a larger battery setup. If you can provide a reliable power source, it’s a great camera.

This camera is amazing. It just works with Homekit. Wifi 6 also works perfectly. I am so impressed. I mounted it outside in a slightly sheltered area but it still gets some rain around - no problem with the rain, it just keeps going. Records video and audio really clearly too. If you’re looking for a Homekit camera then this is a great buy.

What a stunning home security camera. We bought it to replace our Arenti IN1 after they clearly disabled the motion detection aspect to make you pay more and subscribe. That’s in the bin now. The Aqara detects everything and with a great range. Works really well through glass and gives good night vision. Well worth the money. And the app is really good too.

The camera I’ve been waiting for. Or at least, it should have been. Pros - HomeKit compatible, 24/7 recording. Decent response time accessing feed, 2 way audio. Excellent price point. Audio quality strong. Decent human/vehicle recognition native in the Aqara app. Cons - the quality is poor - Disappointingly so. My 2020 eufy 2c pro provides a more clear picture. I know that HomeKit throttles the video to 1080p but I have the two cameras next to each other and the Aqara camera can’t pick up details like the eufy. Even when I disable HomeKit and use the Aqara app, the 2k picture is worse than the actual 1080p eufy feed… will probably be sending this back and waiting for something that’s up to scratch in terms of performance or picking up another eufy camera and sacrificing the 24/7 recording.

Good camera and excellent Apple HomeKit integration. Software doesn’t have loads of spam like Yi products. Great bit of kit for the price.

Not very good detection; either too often with motion or too much lag with person. Nonetheless it isn’t that expensive so par for the price. Update: Have now connected to Apple Homekit and detection much better and a bit quicker than the Aqara app. With the Aqara app, motion picks up anything including shrubs moving in a breeze, people only picked up occasionally. TBF Aqara do have AI detection but for this one has to pay a subscription.

Appleホーム対応のスマートカメラとしては安くていいですね。中国本土系のメーカーですが、Apple Homeアプリだけでセットアップした場合はAppleのサーバーをE2EEで使うことになるので、問題も少ないのではないでしょうか。 Apple Homeだけでセットアップした際に使える機能は、普通の映像監視、動きの検知、リアルタイムの音声通話、カメラ内蔵ライトの点灯などがあります。ただし、遠隔監視をしたい場合は自宅置くホームハブとしてHomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV (詳細な機種は調べていません) が必要です。 AppleではなくAqaraのサーバーを使う場合は、ホームハブはなくてもいいのかもしれません。ただ、個人的にはAqaraのサーバーに自宅の映像を送りたくないです。E2EEでもありませんし。 カメラの周りにスペースがあると思いますが、そこには赤外線ライトがあります。夜間の映像も意外としっかり映ります。人物の識別は難しいかもしれませんが、2mくらい先なら指の識別もできるので、その人物が何をしているのかは分かります。 製品寿命についてはまだまだ分かりません。故障したらレビューを更新します。

Ho preso questa Aqara G100 per metterla all'esterno e, dopo averla testata per bene, posso approvarla a pieni voti! La mia preoccupazione principale era il Wi-Fi, dato che l'ho installata in un punto decisamente non vicino dal router di casa. Invece, probabilmente grazie al Wi-Fi 6, tiene la connessione in modo pazzesco: segnale sempre stabile, mai una disconnessione e lo streaming video in 2K parte subito senza incertezze. Altra nota di merito assoluta: la resistenza alle intemperie. Ha preso delle gran giornate di pioggia battente e vento forte, ma non ha fatto una piega, continua a funzionare come il primo giorno. La qualità dell'immagine in è ottima, anche di notte con la visione a colori, e si integra alla perfezione con l'ecosistema smart di casa. Se cercate una telecamera affidabile, economica e da piazzare in esterno, anche dove il Wi-Fi non è al suo massimo del raggio d'azione, andate sul sicuro. Consigliatissima.

Wymieniłem dotychczasowe G2H i skończyły się problemy w HomeKit z kamerkami offline. Używam Hubów M2 i M3, więc ich brak w G100 mi nie przeszkadza. Jako kamera zewnętrzna też sprawdza się lepiej niż G6 bo jest mniejsza i dużo tańsza a ponadto ma większy kąt widzenia. Na razie same superlatywy!

The camera works really well, the image quality is excellent, and setup was quick and easy. The only issue is that I ordered the black version but received the white one instead. I decided to keep it because everything else is perfect.

Genau die Kamera, die ich gesucht habe. Eine einfache und preiswerte Lösung, die sich ohne zusätzliche Drittanbieter-App direkt in Apple Home integrieren lässt. Die Einrichtung über Apple Home funktioniert schnell und problemlos. Die Bildqualität ist sowohl tagsüber als auch im Nachtsichtmodus sehr gut. Die Stromversorgung erfolgt über USB-C. Ein Netzteil ist allerdings nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten, daher sollte man ein passendes USB-C-Netzteil bereithalten. Ich habe die Kamera im Außenbereich unter einem Dach montiert. Die Befestigung ist mit einer Schraube unkompliziert möglich und dank der verstellbaren Halterung lassen sich Neigung und Blickwinkel flexibel anpassen.
