Honest evaluation, even though sometimes the truth is hard to hear.
This is a phenomenal product! They ask you to mention "giftable", "warmth" and "thickness" in your review so...I find it giftable (my wife gave it to me for Christmas). Warmth was acceptable (it reached room temperature shortly after removing from the front porch, where it was cold!). Thickness was as expected (ironically, it is the exact thickness of a bourbon barrel head!)Now that that is out of the way, I was born and raised in the Bluegrass State, home of the world's best bourbon, and fastest horses! Unfortunately, I now live in NC where they think they can play basketball. Anyway, my wife bought this for me as a Christmas gift. She stated that she was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews, but decided to purchase anyway. I assured her it was perfect. After reading some of the reviews, I have some recommendations:1) One review mentioned that they got a splinter. It's a bourbon barrel head, not a handrail at the White House. It's not going to be smooth and highly finished. Your best bet if this is a concern is, stop washing dishes by hand and using lotion afterwards, or just stick to wine, bourbon may not be the vice for you.2) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you EVER sand and refinish this thing. It tells you what it is in the description and sanding and refinishing it will ruin the piece. You could've saved some money and gone to your local yuppie store in the local high class neighborhood and bought a smooth, glossy lazy susan that will help protect your non-calloused hands, and saved you from putting some elbow grease into ruining a masterpiece.3) These heads are *used*. It's not going to look new, refined, etcetera. If you're concerned about gaps between the slats, your only option is to purchase the rest of the barrel, put it together, fill it with liquid, and let it sit until it stops leaking. FYI - once it dries out, the gaps will be back again, that's kinda how wood works.4) If you're concerned about putting food on this thing, don't. Typically, a lazy susan is for condiments and seasonings, napkins etc. Don't get me wrong, nothing would be funnier than spinning it as an unsuspecting 5 year old tries to grab his hotdog, but that's really not the purpose.Like I said in the headline, the truth is hard to hear, so if you fit into one of the categories above, sorry, not sorry. At the end of the day, It's been 30 years since I was interested in "highly active susan", so the Lazy Susan was the perfect Christmas gift for a bourbon lover who likes to entertain at home whether it's a nice sit down meal, or a cook out.Highly recommended!

Fantastic idea, but fell short.
I gave this lazy Susan as a gift, but was a little reluctant, due to it arrived with flaws. The barrel stamp on top was barely legible and it was not a perfect barrel lid, but arrived with considerable gaps in between 2 of the wood slats and was not level on the surface. Because it was bought for use on a sheltered outdoor patio table, it was still gifted. If it was meant for indoor use, I just couldn't have given it. I hope the item I received was a one off, probably a late Friday manufacture? I really think the item was a fantastic idea and could have been great.

It’s a keeper!
I have been wanting a lazy Susan for our large table for a while, then friends from out of state were coming for a visit and they are bourbon fans and I wanted to make a charcuterie board for our meal so I bit the bullet. I am so glad I did. The charcuterie was a big hit and they loved the lazy Susan. I am looking forward to using it many times forward, as well it just looks really cool on the table!

Unique!
We got this for a Charcuterie board and it’s a bit rustic, cheeses will get caught in the cracks of the top. BUT, it is really cool with the distillery and batch number. Great size and very unique, I’m sure this is one of a kind with the batch number. We like it and will keep it.

Just perfect
The media could not be loaded. I got a lazy susan for our table. I got this one because Jim Beam was my dad's drink of choice, and this year is the 10th anniversary of his passing. It makes me smile every time I see it. It's rustic but smooth enough to use easily, and turns like a dream. In short, it's perfect for what I wanted in practicality and sentimentality.

Amazing turntable added to kitchen remodel center island
We recently added a large center island to kitchen remodel and I found this beautiful 21” Whiskey Made turntable on Amazon to place in the center. Now I can plate dinner from my stove, place it on the turntable and serve to my hubby on the other side of the island. The turntable goes great with our rustic remodel and decor. Love it!!!

Awesome and realistic because...it IS REAL.
I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews that I might get a piece of junk. But as usual, people exaggerate I think in reviews... or have expectations that don't match exactly what it is they are getting. This is the top of a real used bourbon barrel. It's not some perfectly sanded piece of artwork. Yes! You might get a sliver! Lol We LOVE it. As bourbon snobs I can tell you this is a real conversation piece & fits my large, fake distressed table very well. I can assure you the distress marks in this piece, are not fake. This is the real deal. I am so happy I ordered it. It really makes my super large table a lot more functional too. Very sturdy and truly unique

Not for the dinner table?
This is a beautiful but very rustic piece. I was looking for something to match our rustic wood beams. I thought this would be the perfect fit. However, I’m not sure if it’s meant for the dinner table. The one I received was very rough. It had several sharp edges and rough wood that could easily give you splinters. I got out my sander and smoothed it out with 80 grit sand paper then stained it with Minwax Early American stain. I love it now. It will be a great statement piece and I’ll be a lot more comfortable putting it on the dinner table for my family.
