This Is Bugliosi's Point of View
I saw many things that were not correct. Having studied this case for so long and from many sources, I have learned which are good and which are not so good. I never read Bugliosi's book because he bought into the LHO lone-nut theory. He's not alone. Our government was counting on people not questioning this bizarre story. Anyone (and I know there are many) who has studied this from all angles as I have knows that the story of Oswald is just that--a story.. A villain to pin this tragedy on so that those who took over the government could get on with their dirty deeds. I read William Manchester's book decades ago. No one can substantiate some of the conversation, like that among SS agents. There were many involved and their dialogue has not been disclosed. I think the settings were very realistic for 1963. One glaring error was the Zapruder film. They were watching it in the bold colors it has now. It was faint in color and yes, there were frames cut out. Anything to go along with the lie the government told. Some of us are not easily fooled. Bugliosi may have known a lot about the Manson case, but I don't think he knew enough real information to write his book on JFK. But if it was based on the book and if that is the story someone wants to tell, it was told. It just isn't true and I expected more from Tom Hanks.

Not factually correct
If I knew nothing about the kennedy Murder I would not mind this movie. In that respect it is not bad. But I have studied this case for many years. It is my generation. In the scene where Jackie is in the Limo with JFK they are correct in stating she would not let go but they do not show how she finally lets go. Her Agent takes his coat off and puts it over JFK's head and she lets him go. She did not want anyone to see his head. The ER trauma room scene is wrong. It did not happen that way. Jackie only comes in the trauma room after he is pronounced dead and she enters with the priest. The DR. scenes are all wrong. I can go on but like I said factually incorrect but not a bad movie....

A brilliantly human portrayal by an all-star, all-supporting cast!
This is an excellent movie, but it isn't your typical film, and certainly not your typical "Kennedy Assassination" film. It doesn't spend a lot of time developing characters' backstories, and does not use an elaborate, complex script. Instead, it simply lets the events themselves tell the story in real time. The audience joins the story almost in voyeuristic fashion. It's a style that works well for this subject. It is definitely a film for people who have done some research of that awful day, and the small details will be appreciated by those who are familiar with the subject matter. It doesn't elaborate on things, it just lays them out there. But if you haven't done much research on the Kennedy Assassination, don't let that stop you from seeing this film. This movie can be your introduction, and although it may leave you with more questions than it answers, they are questions you never would have thought to ask had you not seen this film. A great deal relies on the ability of each actor to convey the emotion, anger, stress, sadness, and humanity of each scene. This incredible cast rose to the occasion and did this difficult subject material justice. The movie is packed with big names, yet none dominate the film. It's not a film where one or two big stars carry the movie, but rather a movie where everyone is in a supporting cast role. In that sense, it is a lot more realistic than the usual Hollywood piece.

Safe, true, honest film about the death of a president.
I had my reservations about this movie, fearing it'd be another one pushing some kind of alternate theory. Fortunately, it was not. It's a great film instead, with fast-paced direction and care for the details (both of the story and the time). In fact, it has to do with the moments immediately before JFK's assassination, and the days after the murder. The cast is formidable, and together they make this movie an ensemble piece in which nobody tries to steal anyone's place or upstage anybody. In fact, it brings to life people who usually are left behind, like the ER crew at Parkland Hospital, which took care of the US president right after he was shot, and Mr. Zapruder, who became an unwilling history maker thanks to his super 8mm tape. It's a great movie worth watching more than once!

The Known Unknowns
Fascinating film covering the background of President Kennedy's Shooting in Dallas. We meet the White House men close to the president, the physicians and nurses who were in the trauma room when Kennedy came into Parkland. The FBI men, Secret Service, Mrs Kennedy and others. One of the most memorable men we meet is Zabruder, the man who filmed Kennedy being shot. We see his story. The Secret Service and FBI vying for the film. And every news magazine known to man wanting to pay for the film, The other person is Robert Oswald, the brother of the man who killed Kennedy. We meet his crazy mother, quite insane, but we never learn the real story behind the murder. The FBI man in Dallas who was tracking Oswald because of his ties to Russia is revealed. Now this is an interesting story. The entire film was fascinating and filled in a lot of story of the unknown. Acting was well done, but something was missing from the film to make it to an A level.Recommended. prisrob 10-09-17

Perspective is a Thing.
I don't know if "enjoyed" is appropriate, however I feel it's exactly as described. It's done from specific viewpoints of people on the job of their ordinary city. This gives some time to people who aren't called out in a lot of works. The ordinary people going about their ordinary lives until this terrible thing explodes around them. I would recommend this to others. I liked getting a sort of snapshots look at all the different people from around the shooting. It gave me a decent idea of what a lot of innocent people, minding their own, whose lives were permanently altered by their experiences may well have felt.

Zapruder focus
Given that there is so much information about this faitful day and occurrence, the film fails to make use of most but the rudimentary details. The filming of the shooting by Zapruder is the focus and many things about Oswald and Ruby (whose presence is absent) as well as the questions about the shooter/shooters are brushed over. Instead much time is spent on the micro squabbles in the FBI office, as well as the hospital emergency room work around and on Kennedy’s body. All in all a disappointing film to the discriminating viewer.

'NOVEMBER 22nd 1963'
IT IS OFTEN SAID THAT PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD REMEMBER WHERE THEYWERE WHEN TOLD 'JFK' HAD BEEN ASSASSINATED.....well if like myselfyou were around at that time, like myself you probably do.The film was of course released to coincide with the forthcominganniversary of that chilling day in 'Dallas'The film portrays the intense and desperate effort at 'Parkland' torevive the mortally wounded President, followed by events that followed. The arrest and subsequent killing of the suspect 'Lee Harvey Oswald'The now famous 'Abraham Zabruder' filming of the entire incident thathe'd filmed from as close as 30 yards away.....what conclusion if anywould the Secret Service make of what had been captured on-film.The authorities were frantically trying to make sense of what had takenplace.Perhaps skipped through to quickly, the film is a frantic and intenseaccount of the days following the incident. The event remains on of the most talked and argued about happenings ofthe 21st century.Conspiracy Theories are many, could 'Lee Harvey Oswald' have been actingalone ? ..Could he have got-off those three shots with the weapon he hadin the short time frame available to him ? ...Were other forces at work, was it a ''HIT'' ?Why was the body of the slain president removed so quickly from Parklandhospital ?There are, almost certainly answers to many of the questions out there, mostsecret documents are released for public scrutiny after between 25-50 yearshave passed, whatever is known about the JFK assassination will not bemade available for another 25 years............makes one wonder what is reallyknown about the killing.Everybody that has an interest, like myself, have an opinion and have drawnyour own conclusion.Do the public at large deserve answers....of course they do.Questions are still asked 50 years on, what is really known ?Why did the secret service break the laws of the state by removing the bodybefore the required autopsy ?The 'Zabruder' film taken of the events of that day clearly show the presidentshead jerking backwards upon impact of the fatal bullet. Was that fatal shot made by someone other than the 24 year-old 'OSWALD' ?The questions will continue to be asked, many more than I've listed that'sfor sure.SPECULATIONS -CONSPIRACY THEORIES - REMAIN 50 YEARS ON !!If you, like myself, remain interested in the events of that day, you may, ifyou haven't already be interested in the film 'JFK'Another very good film worth a viewing is the account of the 'Cuba Crisis'which took place one year before the assassination. 'Thirteen days'No Oscars to be won here, however well worth viewing.Special features include...The Director's commentary and Deleted Scenes. The film currently available to buy is Region A.
