impressive little bass
I've played bass for over 30 years, and have owned many great instruments, including a '78 Fender p-bass, '79 Rickenbacker 4001, Kramer XL8, an 80's Spector, and plenty of more recent offerings (Schecter, Ibanez, etc.) ... I am very pleased with this Cort Curbow. Yes, the lucite body smells a bit the first few days (but the smell DOES dissipate), and the body is kinda small (i.e. you'll need a strap even while sitting) ... those minor complaints aside, the curbow is beautiful, solid, great neck, great sustain, impressive hardware, and the bartolini p/u is amazing ... it's in the very least, worth considering. Many Kudos to Amazon as well, for quickly managing a shipping snafu, in the midst of some nasty weather!

Great bass for the money
I've been without a 5 string ever since my Stingray was stolen a couple of years ago. It's obviously not on the same level as a Stingray, but the Curbow is a solid, warm sounding bass. The sustain is great and plays really well. It was in bad need of a set up when I received it (large neck adjustment, the intonation was out, the action was insanely high and the tuning knobs were all loose), but once it was set up right I didn't want to mess with any of my other basses. I've been playing for roughly 15 years, though these days it's more of a hobby, mostly metal and it works great. My only lasting issue is some electronic buzz, but that is because the active pickups are so strong. For $350, tax included, you really can't go wrong....
