Highly recommend!! I'd buy more!! l
This is a GREAT shovel, light AND sturdy, even with recent 14" of snow!! The assist handle is perfect. . . flexible, not stiff, making it easy to use! Highly recommend!! Im only 5' tall and still comfortable to use.

Works great and makes it easier on your back
I used it for hours this winter storm in the south... It's really good, the spring really helps. It's not the best to push or scrape, but soft snow is much easier with it. 100% recommended

Excellent shovel
This is the best shovel. So easy to use. I have even gifted it as odd as that sounds - but I liked it that much. I only gave it 4 stars because the assembly is a little tricky. There is a pin you have to push down to get the shovel to attach to the handle and it's REALLY tough to push down. Otherwise this is the best possible shovel for snow!

Great help with shoveling snow
The snow joe shovel with a second handle really helped with lifting and throwing the snow. It does helps a lot without using my back as opposed to regular shovels. Only complaint is the handle screw comes apart and loosens.

Good Choice for Northeastern Winters
I live on Lake Ontario, so get lake effect snow every year. I was in the middle of shoveling my driveway and my old shovel just snapped. This shovel had the best ratings out of what I was looking for; specifically, I wanted something with an extra handle because the slush at the end of my driveway (from plows) gets heavy. This is a good shovel! The blade width is good for me because it doesn't pick up enough snow to be unwieldy to push and pick up. I'm 5'3" so anything wider tends to pick up too much snow. It's lightweight but works well. It doesn't fold, but I've never needed a shovel to fold, so that's a moot point. The metal edge at the tip of the blade is very helpful for lighter and smaller chunks of ice. I also signed up for the warranty - I ended up having to call customer service because the website was acting up. It was easy to do and didn't take long at all.

Great snow shovel!
I just used this shovel to remove snow in Long Island during/after the storm of 1/25/2026 and have to say that this is the greatest snow shovel that I have ever owned. I was so impressed by its design that I felt compelled to leave feedback, which I rarely do at Amazon. The spring-assist handle does a great job of reducing pressure on the lower back, the teeth on the cutting edge of the shovel glide smoothly over concrete/asphlat surfaces without excessive catching and the shovel itself is light-weight. It appears to be well-built so I expect it to last a while. Highly recommend this product. The design is not a gimmick.

My SJ-SHLV02 Shovel Broke - Snow Joe replaced it
If you don't know this already, Snow Joe has a 2 year manufacturer's warranty behind their products, even the shovels. MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER your shovel on Snow Joe's website to not run into the problem I had getting support. Background: Have purchased a snowblower, extra batteries, and a different shovel SJ-SHLV01-RED in additional to this one SJ-SHLV02 from SnowJoe either from Amazon or from their website. Both shovels that I use from Amazon are great, but this SJ-SHLV02 is superior(NOPE, changed my mind, see UPDATE below). In addition to the strength and throwing capabilities they both give, this one can scrape under to pick up near frozen snow and sometimes ice. I had no problems with anything until yesterday when my SJ-SHLV02 broke. I don't even know exactly when it happened because the blade initially got a small triangular hole in it near the handle stem, but it kept working with a little snow "leaking" through the blade. I don't THINK I was being too rough with it, but this thing seems to give the strength of several people when really using it, and it was that sense of unstoppable scraping and lifting that probably did it in. We've had our iciest snow in decades in my area (Chicago Area) At 20 degrees F, in typical use with a LOT of heavy snow/ice lifting my blade broke. Took the picture right away, and was still able to use it for another hour in this condition. It's still looks like this, can scrape under and lift a lot of snow - amazing. I would have(not happily) paid for another one to replace it, because I like it so much. The return: OMG, did I have to be persistent. At first I looked at their website to see what the manufacturer's warranty was, since I'm almost at 90 days, well past the typical Amazon return window. Shows 2 years, great, I'll try it out. Called first, gave the model number, described what happened and was told to email a picture of it. Did that. Started to get nice email responses, 1st support ticket generated, new shovel(or part) to be mailed directly to me, no physical return required, also a Warranty Order Number. On that email, notice that the shovel being shipped to me is the older SJ-SHLV01-RED that is my other still working shovel. Respond back to that email(which now generates a 2nd support ticket number) that it's the wrong shovel. Now I get emails, that the shipment is cancelled, and that my shovel is not registered. Respond back with a .pdf of my Amazon receipt from less than 90 days ago and get no reply. I try to register this shovel on their website, but cannot because there is no serial number on the shovel itself. Next, I start a chat session and to make it quicker give the initial issue, references to the 2 previous support tickets, and a request to get my shovel registered. Get asked for serial number, told it's on the blade - it isn't, or at least isn't anymore from using it. The person on chat asked for my Amazon Invoice Number, (same as provided via email previously) and now my shovel gets registered on-line (I can see it on their website under my account) AND they are shipping a replacement to me. It took me over an hour to do this. Do yourself a favor, either VERIFY that your shovel gets registered on SnowJoe's website(like my first one did automatically after ordering from Amazon) OR get it registered right away(unlike my second shovel shovel which didn't get automatically registered from Amazon). Don't assume like I did. UPDATE: One week later. I received the replacement shovel, however, now I wish I had just gotten the wrong one back instead. I can really appreciate the version that "doesn't break" vs. the Indestructible version that does. I think it's the scraper on the bottom that is too good. I have a regular ice scraper for that. I'll keep the replacement shovel and keep getting a replacement until my warranty runs out in another 21 months. Then will get another non-Poly Carbonite version as my second Snow Joe shovel. Lowered score from 5 to 4 stars.

I have spine and nerve issues.. I don't do much of shoveling, but sometimes I need to do a bit around the car that's outside of the garage... that the snow removal can't get too... This shovel doesn't hurt my back and is so light and easy to use! It is amazing! Everyone who shovels should have this!

This is the best shovel I have ever owned, and it gets a lot of use. As I am older, I find that with this shovel, I am able to do my walkway with ease. I purchased a similar shovel a few years ago that was slightly smaller, and it was used so extensively that it became worn out.

Very comfortable and easy to use.

Great shovel! I was unsure how it would do in heavy snowfalls but it’s great! Gets right down to the pavement and is easy to use - plus it saves your back and the strain of shovelling. Even better that we bought it on sale!

We bought this shovel mainly because of the extra assist-handle because, well… back pain is a personality trait in this house and honestly, it made a bigger difference than we expected. Tested in VERY real winter conditions This wasn’t fluffy Hallmark-movie powder snow It snowed, rained, froze solid, snowed again. Basically: built like layered lasagna, but frozen. And the shovel still picked it up and pushed it without struggling. Size reference The person using it in the video/photos is 6 ft tall. The handle height feels comfortable, not short or awkward. Pros • Assist handle makes lifting and tossing easier. You bend less, your arms work more, exactly what we needed. • Wide blade picks up a good amount of snow per scoop • Metal wear strip at the bottom helps scrape down to the surface • Surprisingly easy to maneuver on decks + walkways • Feels light even with heavier snow • Assembly is quick (3 pieces that click together) Cons • Not ideal for breaking solid ice — it’s a shovel, not an ice chisel • Tall users (6'3"+) might wish for a slightly longer handle • Snow sticks to the blade a little when it's wetter (normal, but worth noting) If you have back pain, or just want something that makes shoveling feel less like a gym punishment, this shovel is absolutely worth it. It won’t replace a snowblower for massive storms, but for regular snowfalls, even the stubborn frozen kind we had, it made the job faster and easier.
