Didn’t even get to 250 degrees and peeled and bubbled paint. Then caused a fire in the box from the paint peeling. The fire box is really deep so it can handle the wood. The downside is if you want to only use the grill, the charcoal grate/tray is too far away from the grill. The solution is to raise the charcoal grate/tray -- I used rocks.
