Q: Does the filling bunch up into lumps?

Yes, it absolutely does. It bunches into lumps everywhere. My husband and I cannot stand them and would have returned them if we had realized how bad they were before the return window closed.

Q: Please only answer if you have washed. i've never had washable pillows before, should i anticipate problems doing this?

One wash and the cording around the edges unraveled and left fluff all over my laundry room. Save your money and get something else.
