Why was the outfit purple instead of black?

Well, the day Joker went shopping for this little number, he has $106.71 in his bank account. He was striking out at all the Gotham Men’s Warehouse locations, and was about to give up hope in his search of the perfect purple tux! While walking down Wayne Ave, a certain window display caught his eye. It was a magical black with a purple vest! And the price tag popped! $49.97!! He knew if he bought it, he’s have enough left over to hit up Arby’s every Friday during Lent for 2 for $6 Fish sandwiches!
