for being a wonderful writer, and story teller
After reading "Don't cry Wolf" I became a "FAN" of Farley Mowat, and purchased this book, and found it wonderfujlly readable, full of information about the high latitudes of Canada, plus the history of Canada, that I never knew. NOT that Mr. Mowat needs my praise, for being a wonderful writer, and story teller, I only wished to bring his name forward so others might share the perfect enjoyment I've had reading these two books. They are terribly "human" and a bit sad in places, but the writing comes from "real life" and that is not always a joy.

High Latitudes
Farley Mowat is the unperceived author of many books on the north. His specialty is the Barren Ground Caribou Inuit. Farley not only writes majestically, but you can close your eyes and see what he is writing about. Don't stop with this book, he has several, and each one gets better and better. You might recognize his name associated with the movie about wolf's. Great book, great author, get it.
