Great replacement
Worked perfectly for my early 2011 Macbook Pro (model A1278). I had formatted my SSD to do a clean install of Mac OS, but couldn't get the installer to work even on a blank formatted drive. It would always lock up sometime during installation. After many failed attempts to install the OS, this cable did the trick. For $10, an easy decision! The cable arrives flat (if it isn't damaged in shipping), so you'll need to carefully bend the cable in a few places when installing so that it sits correctly. This item is just the cable without the bracket that holds the sleep/IR sensor, so you'll need to transfer the bracket inside your Macbook to the new cable. This can be a little tricky since the cable is so small -- I highly suggest padded tweezers and a plastic spudger to help guide the connector back in. Ifixit.com has a really helpful installation guide with great images.Overall, it took about 30-40 minutes to install the new cable.

Worked Perfectly-Fixed my MacBook
Late 2011 13" MacBook Pro with the Comrade Question Mark Screen. Guessed it was the cord, as I read this cord is a common failure point on machines of that era. Fairly easy to swap, only needed a jewelers phillips screwdriver, maybe 10 minutes to swap out. Very happy.

Nice cheap replacement!
Was about to buy a new hard drive for my girlfriend's Macbook before I searched around and found out it could be this particular cable. I have no idea how Apple designed a SATA cable that can all of a sudden go back after years of being stationary inside a laptop. This cable solved the issue and her laptop was back up and running. The only complaint I have is this cable is perfectly flat while the OEM cable is crimped around the chassis' edges. So you'll have to make the folds in the cable yourself.

Early 2011 MacBook Pro 13" Non Metal
PROS: cheap, easy to install with videos online, got here day so I could get back to my Sims (lol) and lost no data. Worked right after installation.CONS: Malfunctioning after 9 months. Can't get past start up and DU says hard drive is OK. Put electrical tape over the brackets (to act as a buffer as I've read online the thumps and bumps to the bottom case can shorten lifespan of cable) which, to my surprise, got me to desktop and all was good until it froze again the next day when I tried to login my account.TO SUM IT UP: Since they are so cheap, I would suggest getting 2 at a time. One to replace the original cable you need to replace, and the 2nd for a replacement of the replacement. But for $10 and 9 months of use, I can't really be too mad. I would recommend, but just be aware that you'll probably need a new one within the year you installed the first replacement.

It’s worth it
Video in YT explains how to install it step by step. The only thing is that it supposed to have an adhesive, but it wouldn’t work. I installed it anyway without it being glued and it worked perfect though. I recommend it anyhow.

Good quality, works like a charm.
My wife's early 2010 MacBook Pro had what looked like a drive failure, but the drive worked in an external enclosure. I put it back in the laptop, and it worked once, and then not again. For ten bucks it was worth a try to replace this cable. Works great--comes with peel-and-stick adhesive in the right places. Exactly the same quality/dimensions as OEM. We got more life out of a great computer for only ten dollars. Very pleased.

You cannot beat this value
I thought my computer was broken. After doing some research I was led to this part. Super easy (and quite fun) to install. My MacBook works like a charm now. $15 fix.

Works well
It worked. My mac had "crashed" displaying the dreaded file folder. I replaced the cable and was back up and running.Of note... there is some kind of design issue with the routing of the cable. This is my second replacement. This time I covered both sides of the cable with electrical tape. A tape sandwich. I'm hoping this will alleviate the wear and tear issue.

Package showed up in a ziplock bag and was bent/creased in multiple places
I am concerned that this product may not last long or be defective. The product showed up in a ziplock bag and was creased/bent in multiple places. Dissapointed in the packaging but it is the correct part.

Good, but could have gone better
Product was exactly as described. But came bent in half inside ample sized and non damaged packaging. Still worked, but I don't know how the bend will affect the longevity of the product.
