Finally fixed my a/c vent issue in my 1991 Jeep Cherokee. I tested all my vacuum lines with a vacuum pump and there was no leak, but I was missing the check valve so when the manifold vacuum was reduced under heavy acceleration the air would stop blowing out of the front facing vents and start blowing through the defrost vents. I previously brought a Dorman 47170 which was listed for Chrysler, Dodge, and JEEP and it was defective right out of the box (passed air both directions). I decided to give this a try and glad I did. Was a tight fit on 1/4" hose. Now my forward facing vents continues to work when I'm on the freeway and does not default back to the defrost vents.

Works fine. It is just a simple one way low pressure valve. Replaced a failed Ford piece in our spa that is used to keep primary pump from getting air locked on start up. Wait, I'll get in there right now and test it for ya, aaahhhhhhhh.... yup, it works. One star off for being about twice the price it should be but maybe I'm geezed on todays costs for everything.

I have ulterior motives in writing this review, more of advice than a review. The check valve is fine, no problems. Used it on a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 to correct the vacuum bleed off which effected the climate controls. That's the review. The advice is to locate the initial vacuum port (appears to come from the passenger side of the block) and replace the first check valve on a 90 degree elbow. I wasted a certain amount of time before I discovered where this check valve was located. For what it's worth, I generally work on Chevy's. Needless to say, the plumbing on a Dodge is completely different. If it helps just ONE poor, dumb, SOB... my time has been well spent. The Duck

I’ve been using this exact model for 10+ years for special vacuum projects. These are bulletproof and true old-school quality. I’ve purchased them through the years and, unlike so many other products, these remain unchanged. Solid in every way. I use for around 26 inches of mercury (inHg) and these hold forever. Probably made in the USA. Not Chinese junk regardless of where they are manufactured. Nice sharp barbs and tough housing. The bi-color is a nice touch to remember that these flow black to white.

This is the same part on many 90's Jeeps. Its the one right on the manifold that feed the A/C amd cruise. This is too big to fit where the A/C goes into the firewall. That is a different part.

Their was no way of knowing what size it was and as it was only a little1/8 thing of no value to my needs . The vacuum pump ordered has a 3/8 size hose ??
