Powerful, fast, and super capable — but takes time to dial in
I’ve been using the xTool F2 Ultra for a bit now, and overall, I’m really impressed with what this thing can do. It’s a beast in a compact form factor. Between the 60 W MOPA fiber laser and the 40 W diode laser, you can handle pretty much any material you throw at it — metal, wood, leather, acrylic, anodized aluminum — all from the same machine. Setup was surprisingly smooth. It comes well-packed, software install was straightforward, and within an hour I was engraving test pieces. The build quality feels premium — solid enclosure, clean layout, fans that don’t sound like a jet engine, and everything fits together like a professional tool. The cameras are super high-res, and having two of them makes alignment easier in theory — but it’s not perfect yet. Here’s where things get a little tricky: actually getting the engraving to land exactly where you want can take a few tries. The camera preview isn’t always dead-on accurate, especially if your material isn’t perfectly flat or reflective. You learn quickly that it’s worth doing a test pass before committing to a real part. Once it’s aligned, though, it’s rock solid. Color engraving — that’s the big draw for the MOPA fiber side — looks amazing when it works. But I’ll be honest: getting consistent color results takes patience. It’s not just “pick a color and go.” You have to tune the frequency, power, speed, and spacing to hit the right oxidation effect on the metal. It can be a bit of trial and error, and even small tweaks change the outcome. I’ve had some beautiful rainbow anodized effects on stainless steel, but also some “what happened here?” moments along the way. It’s definitely part art, part science. The software (xTool Creative Space) is solid for the basics — great for aligning and setting up jobs — but for advanced stuff like color work or detailed raster engraving, there’s a bit of a learning curve. I’d love to see them add a few more presets or an easier way to save and share settings because once you find something that works, you don’t want to lose it. Performance-wise, this thing flies. The galvo head moves ridiculously fast — you can watch it zip across a piece and finish what would take a gantry-style diode laser several minutes to do. It handles fine detail beautifully, and the output quality on metals is top-notch once you’ve got your parameters dialed in. The diode laser side is equally great — nice clean cuts on wood and acrylic with very little burn. A few other things worth noting: • The work area is decent for small to medium projects, but not huge — think tags, tools, small plates, and panels, not big signage. • The safety features and enclosure are well-designed. You still want to use it in a ventilated space — the ozone and fumes can build up depending on what you’re engraving. • The machine’s portability is underrated. For what it can do, it’s surprisingly compact. All in all, this is a serious piece of hardware for makers, engineers, or small businesses who want pro-level engraving power in a desktop format. It’s not plug-and-play perfection — you have to learn it and experiment — but when you get it right, the results are incredible. If you enjoy tinkering, dialing in settings, and experimenting with materials, you’ll love this thing. If you want “press start and walk away” simplicity, it might frustrate you a bit at first. But once you get the hang of it, it’s hard not to be amazed at what it can do. I’m still learning the color engraving side, but even with the extra effort, it’s been totally worth it. The combination of speed, precision, and flexibility makes this one of the best tools I’ve added to my workshop in a long time.

One Machine That Delivers on Metal Coins and Drinkware ... with SPEED!
We use the xTool F2 Ultra in real production, not as a hobby machine, and it has exceeded expectations. The dual laser setup is exactly what we needed. The 60W MOPA fiber allows us to engrave metal challenge coins with true multi color markings that are clean, permanent, and professional looking. The color control and repeatability are outstanding. The 40W diode handles cups, coated metals, wood, and plastics without compromise, making it easy to produce high quality items for customers and friends on the same platform. Speed is a major win. Even at high speeds, accuracy stays tight, which matters when running batches of coins or drinkware. The dual 48MP cameras are not fluff. Auto streamline and visual alignment save real time and reduce mistakes, especially when placing designs on curved or pre made items like cups. Setup and workflow were straightforward. Calibration was painless and the software feels mature and stable. The AI assisted features actually help rather than getting in the way. Build quality is solid and confidence inspiring. Everything feels intentional and durable. This is a machine we trust to run consistently while producing gifts and customer items that need to look right every time. Bottom line. If you are serious about producing professional challenge coins, engraved cups, and other custom items, the xTool F2 Ultra delivers speed, precision, and repeatable results in one platform.

xTool F2 Ultra Single 60W MOPA Fiber Laser - 1 month review
Really impressed with this laser ! Excellent build quality and performance. I chose the single 60w version over the dual version and am very pleased with the choice. I have 2 diode lasers that are used for different tasks, one that is set up for a rotary/roller and one large format for working on pieces up to 20" x 30". The nature of the two types of lasers is the main reason I went with the single MOPA version. When working on wood the diode lasers are best suited as the pieces i work with tend to be larger than the F2 ultra would support. When working on metal, the pieces tend to be smaller and the roughly 9" x 9" working area of the MOPA laser is usually about all I need. This size can be expanded to 8.7" x 19.7" for engraving by adding the auto conveyor, however it states you cannot cut with the conveyor as it would damage the belt. I do have the conveyor but have not installed it yet, so it remains to be seen if can I put a base piece to protect the belt and cut something larger. . If you're used to working in Lightburn you'll have a bit of a learning curve as xTool uses it's own software but I've found it to be perfectly adequate. There is a huge trial and error period for learning the nuances of a MOPA Fibre over a diode, there are many more parameter tweaks to learn and experiment with to achieve your desired results such as color engraving on metal. I'm very pleased with the laser. I'd waited for one that had a larger working area and substantial power and when the F2 Ultra came along I decided to buy in. Set up and getting it burning were quite easy, tweaking the settings to achieve color and proper cutting took a bit longer but progress was reasonably quick. I've successfully cut brass, colored stainless steel and embossed brass within a few working sessions. The F2 Ultra is fairly new so the tech forums aren't fully up to speed on discussions and tips yet, but there is enough information out there to get you pointed in the right direction to help you get your desired results. I'm very pleased with the laser, it's beautifully designed, powerful, accurate and works beyond expectations !

UPDATE * This tool has become heavily integrated into my workflow.
Update* Should be fair to this little box, The camera still is not great but I should update since this machine has become heavily integrated into my workflow. I use it often. Hopefully it stands the test of time. Changed from 1 to 5 stars Not sure what is going on with this thing but I might end up returning it because the camera quality is so bad. It says 48MP I dont think it is anywhere near that. Most of the pictures come out totally over exposed and it is impossible to see anything on them. Considering a MOPA laser is specifically designed for metals and reflective materials I figured this would have been sorted out. Check the photos for comparison, iphone 17 promax camera vs xtool f2 ultra camera. Both claim to be 48MP. For reference the circle thing in the image is 7mm diameter. Camera has no adjustments. I contacted Xtool before leaving this review, their response was basically telling me to return the machine, which is kind of disappointing because I'd rather have a functional machine. Maybe they will respond here. The laser is pretty cool, the materials library is not good. I almost feel like I am beta testing their software to figure out the settings for them. The camera is almost unusable, and pretty much the only way to align your parts. Build quality is top notch.

Power, versatility, and high quality
I’m loving mine! The capability of the Diode laser combined with the awesome accuracy of the MOOA IR laser are a great combination. So far I’ve done business cards, nameplates, Christmas ornaments, plywood jigs, keys (great way to label them), canvas tote bags….the possibilities seem only limited by my imagination. There are very few materials that it can’t handle (the stuff the UV handles, I guess). Extra supplies or auxiliary stuff purchased through their website has been fast and easy. Such a joy to deal with a company that is so focused on their laser engravers, of all types. The only limitation of any significance is the ~9x9” bed (that becomes 9x19” with the conveyor, which I bought but haven’t set up yet). But realistically, I seldom deal with things larger than that, and can probably section them when I do. So, a beautifully engineered high quality machine that is incredibly versatile. What’s not to like?

Ridiculously good, by far the best laser from xtool (diode/fiber), must accept is way overpriced but the results are beyond expectations. This brand has come a long way and fortunately have improved instead of worsen. Software is a breeze to use, only minor problem is that latest update doesn't run on old systems (mac). But still let you use the machine without problems with previous version. Have used gweike, laserpecker, snapmaker, wecrate and nothing compares to xtool and ultra f1/f2, considering other brands offer similar performance and prices with their own "user frindly" softwares. My only hope is that it last long time with heavy use, considering the high price tag, previous xtools haven't let me down yet. Let's not start with this one

BUY FROM XTOOLS SITE DIRECTLY
Do not buy through Amazon... To be fair I have not heard back from xtool regarding this yet but my email was just recently sent. Purchased with it showing ID have my item in a few days... Never showed... Now after we are at almost 2 weeks late (making 2 day shipping pointless) it finally shows. Below are the issues I encountered as well. I had to continue contacting my bank to allow the amount which is obnoxious for 2 weeks A rep told me they could push the payment before shipping to help me out even tho another rep said that's not possible. They said it was pushed through and my bank should clear it within 24 hours. That came and went. So I call the bank bc maybe my apps not real time info or something. Nope.. Not even listed on pending charges.. No sign of it at all. Contact again and the rep tells me yep the other rep did push it but it got stuck and I've fixed that... Was advised I'd be good after some hours passed.... Never was After not receiving it and the delayed package messages hit after a while of it just adding to the next day then the next for expected delivery. I was the told it was in a nearby distribution center here in IL. There is only one near me and it's approx 40 min from me in champaign. I was issued a small amount of the cost of the item for all the issues. Not even 10 percent of the cost. Then I finally get the shipped notification after this long in Alabama... How it could be in Alabama and Illinois at the exact same time is magic apparently. Upon the small amount offered back I asked the rep if it was late yet again would I receive more back and the response got was "yes definitely" It doesn't show for a couple more days but finally I get it. I reach out looking for the additional funds the rep promised (even have screens of this information) and was told no.. They will not allow further payment even when given when and where to check that ID been told this in black and white with "yes definitely" and they said bc of the earlier small amount given it prevents them giving more. Now mind you directly under the offer that was given I asked even with this would I get more if it missed yet another deadline and was told yes. Amazon has reviewed the chats and agreed this was a terrible experience but then follows up stating they refuse to honor what the rep said even when I offered to email them the proof so they could avoid digging. Amazon's final statement on it was there's nothing we can do you're pretty much left with return (obviously I want the laser.. I wish I could have afforded the dual laser and conveyor but I couldn't at this time) but otherwise they said yes you were told wrong multiple times they will be trained better. I had every other rep contradict the previous on so many simple things like is my payment run... Where is my item.... Very shady practices Amazon. Be warned. Now as for the product. I'm sure it will be a wonderful addition to my other machines even though this is my first venture into xtool products. I'm not even looking at that thing for a while due to the headaches and outright lies. AGAIN, AT THIS TIME I ONLY KNOW FOR CERTAIN AMAZON IS LYING AND PROMISING THINGS TO GET RID OF YOU THEN SAYING NOPE. XTOOL HAS BEEN CONTACTED BUT HAS NOT REPLIED YET. PLEASE NOTE AGAIN THAT XTOOL HAS NOT HAD MUCH TIME TO RESPOND YET. I AM NOT SURE IF THEY ARE ALSO A PART OF THE ISSUE OR NOT.. JUST AMAZON FOR CERTAIN PLEASE KEEP AN OPEN MIND WITH XTOOL UNTIL I HEAR FROM THEM ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE AS THEY DESERVE THE CHANCE TO CLARIFY THINGS AND ALSO KNOW THIS IS A BAD ROUTE USE ASE A PARTNER. All that said... Go through xtool guys.. Seriously... It can't be any worse than Amazons lies and as they put it "misinformation from reps" even tho it's been so many of them giving "misinformation" and in the end it's a tough crap customer.. Idc what you were promised.. Then have the audacity to say I'm valued. UPDATE: Amazon is trying to block my review bc they don't believe the process of receiving the item matters enough to note since others will have different experiences. Xtool has been in contact with me and we are working together about this. I have only been able to use the laser for a couple projects so far. My camera view is about a 1/8 in off from where it actually hits on the laser. This is very likely something I may have overlooked when calibrating but haven't had a chance to work on it. That said... I did a brass coin embossment and it was incredible! The built in settings for that were great! I know many say the price is their issue. I can understand that as even I wanted the dual model but couldn't do that right now financially..but do keep in mind it's not just a laser... It's the laser the enclosure the add on expansions for accessories and I didn't have to upgrade my lightburn bc the xtool software is actually really nice in my experience so far. It's very intuitive. It handles the exhaust tubing to run out n. He window or filtration system if you buy it as well. So all in all I'm giving Amazon 1 star and xtool 5 average rating.

Awesome new laser engraver from XTool.
This machine is awesome. The capabilities are more than I expected. What took minutes to engrave on another laser only takes seconds for the same project. I’m only getting started on trying different projects so time will tell if this machine will continue to impress me. The only issue I have is this machine is pricey and paid a premium for it only to have the price go down $300 only a week later. My understanding is that Amazon will not price guarantee if any item if the price goes down within a specified time period. Had I bought this directly from XTool, they would have honored a price drop guarantee.
