Kryptonite Kryptolok Series-2 ATB Heavy Duty Bicycle U Lock Bike Lock with Transit FlexFrame Bracket

This is a good lock. No other lock works for me. All the other ones I've tried break easily or are too hard to open and close on the fly. The only downside to this lock is that ever since I started using it, Superman has stopped going to karaoke with me, which sucks because we were like the best karaoke duo before I made this purchase (you should see us doing "More Than Words" by Extreme - you'd likely cry a river of tears). I knew this lock would potentially cause a rift in our relationship, but I thought I could just stop riding my bike to karaoke night and that would be good enough. Turns out I get ghosted by the dude immediately, and I just didn't realize how emotionally abandoned I would actually feel if something like that happened. I guess I'm saying I now realize we were closer than I had originally thought, and I might even have feelings for the guy. Going to therapy tomorrow to explore this more so we'll see. Great lock though.

What I like the most is that it is big enough to be useful. What I don't like the most is that it is heavy. Very well made and should last awhile, as long as I don't leave it out in the bad weather. I have a smaller one, same generation. It is just hard to figure out how to secure a wheel and the frame to an immovable object at the same time (with the small one). I now use the smaller one to secure the second wheel to the frame. It is a lot to carry, but leaving a bike outside for seven hours in NYC necessitates these measures.

The product itself is really good but there is a big but.The holder of the lock is useless. The lock somehow fell out of the holder and got lost and now I dont have it anymore...

The lock seems sturdy, but the bracket it came with isn't great. I contacted the manufacturer and they mailed me a new-and-improved bracket which has held up fine.I've had this lock for 7 or 8 months now, and it has begun to seize up. Looking inside the lock, I see that it is already starting to rust. My guess is that some internal part is jammed up due to rust. I'm not looking forward to winter, and am considering a new lock already. First though, I plan to wash it out and get some graphite.

This u-lock's really solid. I don't see anyone cutting this easily. I suppose with enough force and using the frame of the bike as lever, or with a portable bottle jack you could just force it open but it would be a pain and in no way stealthy enough to be practical for a bike thief.The few quirks it has are as follows: you need to engage the key all the way down in order to lock and unlock it. If you don't, you just end up misaligning the key mechanism which requires some fiddling with to put back in its proper position. The mount that comes with it (it didn't come with the first I ordered but Amazon customer service promptly sent me another one) seems like it would do the job properly but unfortunately my frame doesn't allow enough space to be mounted there. I ended up using a couple of velcro straps and I mount it on my rear rack.Great lock at a reasonable price.

The mechanism used to clip it to the bike is at the wrong angle. The locking mechanism works great.

This fits on virtually any weird mechanism you may want to lock your bike to. It can also fit two bikes safely depending on where you're locking it. My lock now has scratches and dings where peoole have obviously tried to unsuccessfully steal my bike. This lock is impenetrable! Also, register your key on the website so if you loose it you can order a new one! Don't wait until you loose it to register!!

Works as advertised, built pretty solid so would most likely make a thief think twice about stealing your bike. I carry it in a backpack and doesn't feel to heavy.

Very hard to pull the lock out of the holder!

Solid, sturdy, lasts well if properly maintain. Needs semi-regular oiling if used outside in all weathers. Key/lock will eventually wear out after several years of use. This is normal and happens with any lock.A kryptonite lock will not make your bike completely theft-proof, but they do mean the their needs serious tools to do so.

El clip se agradece solo que hay que apretarlo de vez en cuando.

(Well, it will be 'five stars' if my bike isn't stolen. Also, buyers be aware that this is a 6/10 strength rating for theft prevention. I don't recall if that was clear in the product description.)My issues with this lock are design issues: First, it's a pain in the rear getting this on my bike to lock it. BUT -- I think that is related to my second issue, which is Kryptonite's seeming not to design their products for women's bicycles. This is clear in the instructions related to 'storing' your lock on your bike when you're riding. It illustrates a man's racing bicycle. There is *no place* on My bike that the lock mount works: where ever it will fit either the U-lock won't, or the U-lock itself will be in my way when I'm cycling. Consequently, I have to lug the lock around with me in a bag or whatnot, when I'm pedaling along. And it's not the lightest.Is this simply life lived with a U-lock? Or should I just have gotten a better one?
