Magnetic 19x19 Roll-up Go Game Set Board with Single Convex Stones

Having already bought a set of full size GO stones from this company; I new their products were of superior quality and their aftersales service is excelent. Off on holiday abroad, when the fill size set would be too bulky. I looked for a travel set. This was exactly what I needed, and only weighed 1kg. Product quality is high, both in look and feel. The stones are also large enough to be nice to use. Hope this helps. rj.

I used to own a tiny magnetic Go set which was totally useless, so I approached this with trepidation, but at the discount price of about £20 I took a punt. The board is about 40% full size and arrives in a stout protective tube similar to one in which art work might get stored. Two bags of magnetic stones complete the package. It's all rather nicely made. It's big enough to be easy to play on but small enough for a train journey. It's small enough for dedicated problem solving/study but big enough to be useful.

Good materials quality. But there is only 360 stones in my set, instead of 361. A black one was lost.

One white piece has the magnet gone already when first opened. The number of the black and white stones seems wrong. There should be 181 black and 180 white, but there are 182 black and 179 white (including the faulty one) in the pack.

If you are looking for a travel go set, this one is perfect. Of course this is not equal to those non-travel sets when it comes to overall quality of the board and stones. It's easy to travel with and the stones seem well, even tought they are a little bit smaller than normal go stones.

I am little disappointed. The set came in a bad condition, dirty, scratched and with a very strong toxic smell. Even after half an hour of cleaning, I still could not get rid of the smudges completely. What you see in the goban photo is the result after thorough cleaning. Anyway the cold magnetic plastic-y board is unpleasant, so I will be covering it with a sheet of cloth which will also hide the smudges and scratches. Moreover, the set came with 182 black stones and 179 white stones, where it should have been 181+180. Also, the magnetic polarity is reversed on 42 black stones, which make it uncomfortable to work with - although they still do stick to the magnetic board fine. Those are the little things that upset me, but I am still happy with this set, the box is beautiful on the outside and after enhancing the goban I won't feel bad at all playing in public.

Definitivamente portátil, pero el tablero se queda doblado y se forman arrugas. No está mal pero sin una base de metal no se puede jugar cómodamente. Lo uso en la nevera, pero no es tan práctico para viajar.

Beautiful cloth case with strap. The board itself is a flexible plastic with a lightly magnetic backing that lets you mount it on a fridge or other metallic surface, if desired, for teaching or storage. The stones are also lightly magnetic. Minor negatives: - Can take a little time to get the board to stay flat after unrolling. - Board may crack over time with constant rolling/unrolling. (This hasn’t happened to me yet, but it seems possible.) Overall, a great product.

This is a good board. The magnet is able to hold up the board on whiteboards and the pieces are held in place well, while still being able to slide for placement. This also holds true when playing on a tabletop. It can handle jostling without pieces falling off, but don't expect it to be "ragequit" proof if your friends like to flip the board after you beat them too badly ;) To give you an idea of the magnets' strengths: the pieces can even be played when the board is upside-down if you are careful about it, but will fall if you shake the board from there. The case was a big reason I chose this board because I'm involved in a Go Club and wanted to be able to transport the board easily. It works very well for that. The strap expands to a good size for carrying. The case is very firm. I was expecting it to be simply canvas, but it has some kind of solid tube that gives it rigidity and support. I don't expect the board to get damaged when it is stored away or being carried around. And it can be stored in/removed from the case very easily. The board rolls nicely into the case and while the stone bags look like they are too big to fit with very little effort they slide in fine. The info sheet in the package says that if you roll the board the opposite way from how it was in the case, it will then lay flat. So far this has been true and the board has kept its shape. I was worried the pieces might feel awkward to play with the magnet, but instead playing still felt natural even if the pieces could only be played magnet-side down. My only problem was that a few of the pieces were chipped/cracked, but none so badly that they couldn't be used, just something my friends and I noticed while playing. Overall, a solid product.

Das Plastik Teil stinkt stark und rollt sich auch nach Wochen selbst auf. Unbenutzbar.
