Drill America DWT Series Qualtech die stock. High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. 1-1/2-inches size. Review: WORKS FINE - Ordered it for my friend. He's used it once with no problem. Likes it. Review: Nice quality die stock for the money - Construction is as follows: The center portion is a non-ferrous cast metal and the handles are chrome plated steel with a nice knurl on the end for gripping. The die fits nicely in the center portion and has three knurled, slotted thumbscrews for securing the die into the die stock. I used mine to chase some 7/8-14 threads and it worked very well. The die stock is too short for cutting new threads in big diameter material, but would be fine for new threading up to 1/2". Overall it's a really nice tool for the money.

Only had 1 retaining screw, not 3 as in photo
I chose these die stocks BECAUSE of the 3-screw retention design and good satisfaction with several drill/tap sets that I've recently purchased from Drill America on Amazon. But that is NOT what was shipped. I got one 13/16" and one 1" but both came with single retaining screws. They appear to be solid and well made but I was VERY disappointed. I also bought 1 5-44 die from Drill America in this order and the die fits the 13/16" as expected but the die is made in China, not Made in USA. I guess Drill America is USA in name only? Caveat Emptor comes to mind so I guess it's my own fault for setting expectations too high.

you get what you pay for.
very poor quality, America should be no where in this name because its cheap and cheap it what it is.

Good value for your money
I ordered this feller hoping that the dimensions were correct, and they were spot on! The 2.5 inch die handle will accept any die that is smaller than 2.5 inches in diameter. The die I wanted to use was 2.550 inches in diameter, so I bored the center out on my lathe and it works flawlessly. Knowing I can trust their dimensions now, I'll be more comfortable buying from them in the future. The construction is what you'd expect for the price, itll get the job done.

Cheap and works
Good quality tap handle for large style outside tapping dies, definitely not up to the standard of high end Starrett US made handles, but for an emergency job with a non-standard tap it did the job

Bonne qualité et bon prix.
Beaucoup plus robuste en comparaison avec l' original que j'eutulisait au paravan. Il vaut le prix que j'ai payé pour l'obtenir.

Good quality for the price.

Weak
The handles are made of steel but the body is white metal. It is questionable of how long it will last. The holding screws are not located correctly and therefore do not lineup with the locating holes in the die. I may be sending it back.
