Not the best of my liking, but gripping enough to keep me going
Even though this novel can classify as a Sci-Fi, it's not Sci-fi enough for my liking, Futuristic Science is not the central theme in the novel, its more on the fantasy side rather than Sci-Fi. That's probably the reason that it will not be on the top end of the stories I have liked. But it still qualifies an above 4 rating for this part of the novel series. It had a lot of twists and turns.

Great trilogy
Nice quality paper and cover art. Epic sci-fi fantasy series. Fast paced. First book sets this up perfectly. Golden son follows it up equally well too.

The greatest sci-fi cum fantasy I’ve ever read🔥
If u didn’t like red rising, give this book a try bcz the story is so much different. Everything that was promised in the first book is given to u and even more in the second book. And the ending is the best.

Never a dull moment
Simply awesome. There is never a dull moment in this book. Right from the beginning till the very end there is lot of action. Lot of plot twists that will amaze a reader. As pointed out at several places, the storyline has lot of shades from Game of Thrones. I thought the first book to be very average, where lot of teenage kids kill each other for the sake of some games (very much similar to Hunger games), but in this one there is lot of mature action, politics and betrayals that makes it worth a read.

Maybe its just with my book but quality of the paper is very cheap. Doesn't justifies the price tag. This rating is not for book but for its quality.

I couldn't stop until finished!! Thrilling until the end. It has been some time since I was so hooked by a story. Cannot wait for the last of this series. Highly recommended, even if you are not a science-fiction fan.
