Q: Size of small vs large?

I have repeatedly bought the small one for my puppy to 60lbs dogs and it’s perfect! It easily holds at least a cup of kibble and the size is great. I never tried the large because I’ve had no need to.

Q: How large/small is the hole? We use Blue Buffalo dog food. Will it just pour out of the hole?

the hole is pretty big but they have to roll and knock it over to dispense. i put a small piece of tape over the hole for a little while but removed it - if it's too difficult to get the food out my puppy looses interest - he loves this! we use it daily for the crazy hyper puppy hour to simmer him down :) i use royal canin but blue buffalo is about the same size. I use only about 20 pieces of food in it at a time. I have a golden retriever, he is currently 4 1/2 months old and 30 lbs and will easily grow and still enjoy it.

My dog has loved this ever since she was 10 lbs - it's the large size. (She's 11 years old now, and 22 lbs.) It stands easily when I set it down but falls over at a mere touch. I buy her brand's kibble in the large-dog size so it only tumbles out 1-2 at a time. Even so, she empties it in about 10 minutes. (She normally gets the small-dog size kibble.) It uses up a lot of energy - she literally charges at it to start and knocks it around vigorously for the rest. I now put it in the foyer rather than the tv room because it's so loud hitting walls and furniture legs. Doesn't do damage despite its being so sturdy. I use this for supper if we haven't walked or gone in the car that day, and she naps soundly after beating it up. It's a magnificent toy!

Q: My dog won't touch it. I put some of her favorite treats inside. She tries moving it around, but she gives up when nothing comes out. Any suggestions?

Maybe start with the lid and base in two separate pieces and put some food inside the lid and on the base so she can nose around and eat them from the lid and base so she will associate the Kong with treats/food. Then use really small treats that will fall out of the hole really easily. I took my Kong and shook it like a salt shaker in front of my dog to show him where the food was coming from and then would knock it over so food would come out. I've got hardwood floors so it rolls really easily but some dogs might like carpet so it is a little more stable.

Heavy but does what it's meant to do

The media could not be loaded. At first it felt super heavy for a small dog. But i believe it is to wobble and not lift so it's okay.My pet has been trying to crack the code for an hour so it's definitely engaging!
