Great pictures of the art works Very readable layout Makes it easy to understand and works on having a recall value of the information given Good value for the price charged The Cons: The content, or rather the emphasis given to the way content is organized. It is, like many many books, very Western /Eurocentric /white. They do have some 'tokens' of the Others here and there, but I would have liked it if the title came along with a disclaimer that the book is actually for those who want to familiarize themselves with some well known artists and artwork considered great in a specific culture. Also, it dwells a lot of time on the ancient art, for some reason, I didn't expect the book to do that. So yes, that it does bring some perspective of the ancient past of Western art, and some very selective non-western third world art. But it tries to do things which seems haphazard at times, and I felt it ends up being a very cursory view of a certain kind of art. I wished the writers gave some caveats about that in the book. Overall, I still think it is a good buy, for beginners, but do please look out, there is so much more. Review: Good book but bad delivery - The book is very good and informative. Good book but bad delivery
