I use as a SUP leash for a 14ft inflatable and it works great!
I thought the leash was a little pricey but liked the idea of a coil rather than dragging a long leash all over the place so I went for it. Glad I did, it works great, has saved my butt many times already, from river spills to rough surf wipeouts my giant floaty board is still there within easy reach and I haven't noticed any jerk on my leg either, the coil might even help to dampen the shock on the cord. Seems durable and long lasting. Makes a good anchor to tie off to trees etc in the rivers while swimming etc. I'm satisfied with it.

decent leash, tight coils
I recently purchased this leash for my Tahoe SUP Bliss board. I use it around my ankle instead of calf; there is enough velcro to tighten it on the ankle without it slipping over the foot upon falling. The coils are very tight, so while I am standing, the coils are stretched and I can feel a slight tug backwards on my leg towards the base of the leash at the back of my board. It is a slight annoyance but no issue. Perhaps in time it will relax a bit. It's held for me so far ... planning to keep this one for a while! Seems very durable.

The cheaper ones probably work fine for casual use (I'm coming from an SUP perspective)
This is a heavy duty leash (compared to some of the cheaper options). The cheaper ones probably work fine for casual use (I'm coming from an SUP perspective), but if you are surfing or paddling on the open ocean or in heavy conditions anywhere, and want to be assured that you have a high quality leash connecting you to your board, this is a good option and worth the extra money.

Excellent
Does a very good job, quite comfortable, and it does not drag in the water. I used it for SUP in flat water and some chop. I expect to use in waves soon and since it is larger diameter than the recommended 1/4" minimum, I believe it will work fine.

Solid product
It's the first calf leash I've ever used so I'm still getting used to it.But I like that it keeps my leash out of the water. Still need to figure out my comfort spot but the pros out weigh the cons .. Construction is solid.

heavy duty for SUP
This a great leash, highly recommend for use with a sup. Straight sections on the ends keep the coil from tangling.
