Be careful.
I do a lot of these. My biggest issue with the music box ones is the glue to use on the metal is the same for the wood. It takes a lot longer to adhere and most of the time comes out wobbly. I also had a lot of issues with building the base on this one. It just didn't fit together well. After a lot of time and layers of glue I got it to work but it was a struggle. To reach the the crank for the music you have to remove the back fins which is a little rough I suggest extra waxing to make it smoother.

On 2nd Thought......
A short while ago, I posted a poor review for this kit due to its quality of instruction. I remain adamant that this aspect of the submarine punk music box kit needs an upgrade. However, I am now revising my review to add a couple of important notes about this kit and its maker.1. My granddaughter, for whom this kit was constructed, loves the finished product.2. I now better understand that the focus of this kit was simplicity of design, directed at people who may be too challenged by intricate mechanical assemblies. The intent of this kit series is primarily the creation of a cute wrap around a simple music box mechanism. This funky and whimsical submarine does accomplish that objective.3. Rolife offers a mechanical series that is more suitable for people like myself who value precise kit designs and are OK with the time and patience they require. I did construct their mechanical gear treasure box and found it to be a very satisfactory kit.4. Finally(and this is worth the rating upgrade alone), the Rolife people really care about their customers and demonstrate real customer service. Because of that, I expect that the issues that frustrated me with this music box kit will not be a problem for other users going forward. Rolife has gained my support.

Nice Tune
Assembly worked fine - did not specify all areas where the glue was required but that became obvious as the assembly progressed. Did not like to have to use the instruction sheet to find the parts on each sheet of wood - most models have the part numbers on the sheet of wood next to or on the part.

Fun puzzle.
The media could not be loaded. This was a Christmas gift gor my 14 year old. It was a great project which he built with alittle help from his dad. As you can see some parts are upside down 😂 hence help from dad. This is ALL glued together puzzle, we used our own wood glue because the glue that comes with it was a chunky consistency which i think was just old. My 14 year old enjoyed it but said he was very happy when it was finally done, as a parent this was a great activity which kept him away from electronics. Perfect family time.

Not worth the effort
After building the Orpheus music box, I was looking forward to assembling the Submarine. Considering the unnecessary complex process of building it, the finished product was nit worth the effort. My main concerns are that the piece on the bottom which holds the weight of the top heavy Sub is unsteady, and is glued to the rest if the model, instead of secure pegs or joints. I feel that I will be spending the lifetime of the Sub reattaching it. The second is the movement at the front of the model is wood glued to metal, and u don't see that lasting very long. The movement is under the plastic dome, which us glued together, so if the movement breaks, I would have to destroy most of the Sub to repair it.

Perfect for "big kids"
I got this as a gift for my 10 (almost 11) year old daughter who is taking an engineering class and constantly on the look out for projects. It was a perfect choice for her to do on her own and her 4 year old sister helped with the build by "popping out" the pieces. It kept the girls entertained for HOURS! Just do yourself a favor and GET IT!

This was pretty cool!
This was pretty fun. I'll get more from the company. One star off 'cause one of the screws wasn't scored properly, and some pieces were a bit goofy, but nothing that really effected the build. Probably not for kids and you'll need some needle-nose pliers for the chain. They provide the paste, but silly me saw the white barrel and black top and assumed it was a black marker. I kept wondering what it was for 'till I clued in it was the glue. lol!

So much to glue.
It’s ok. Not great, I paid half price on Lightning Deal so all good. Everything needs glueing. Everything! This is why I didn’t like it so much. I will try the mechanical train next as this seems to not need any glue. The product is well packaged and its nicely presented. So for a gift it would be great. But i’m sure Robotime have better models to build.
