SCONSIGLIATO

Great!
Learning cello on my own (with help from Udemy lol). This is a really great little tool to help me get my fingering right. I was able to hit notes by sound, like i could tell if i was a bit flat or sharp, but this makes it a lot easier. I'm hoping that with practice i'll start to know right where to place my fingers. I like this way better than those tape markers...I get that they're really basic but this is more helpful. You can see what note, not just where. I like too that they differentiated the natural and open notes, as well as the sharps and flats. It's a bit of a struggle to get it on correctly. Try sliding it behind the strings while still on the backing...that way you get the feel for where it needs to go and where you may need to do a little repositioning. Once you're ready, it takes a couple of minutes to apply, and to get everything aligned. It seems nicely sturdy, unlike the tapes that tend to plop off randomly. Really neat, useful little tool for the budding cello player. Highly recommend!

Helpful learning aid
Not sure why so many people are bashing this. Yes we all know that you should use your ears to determine if you're hitting the right note or not - for me specifically who is playing along with tracks by ear it's nice to have a visual representation on the fingerboard where I should be rather than me been just off the mark as to where I should be playing (coming from bass guitar with frets). After applying this - it's also helped me run through my scales knowing where the notes are specifically so I can incorporate sound and finger position to cement muscle memory (or finger equiv) rather than trial and error. Some people might find it useful, others might not - all depends on your learning style but: - It was easy to apply - Stuck down well - Hasn't impacted my playing (no buzz or anything when playing notes) - The placement on a 4/4 electric cello matches the notes so it is accurate (played with an electric d'addario tuner so can confirm that notes played on indicated positions are the right notes. Worked for me

So much better than ugly tape. Understated colours are good. Guitar version is good too.
This is a great addition to my cello. I rebuilt from broken parts and a bunch of online learning. And now I'm learning to play it. I've previously put these guides on one of my classical guitars. So it was a natural choice for my cello. And so much better than ugly tape strips. This way I can start to embed the actual note positions into memory. The colouring is minimal and not lighting up my fingerboard like a xmas tree with a stack of colours. There is minimal adhesive so I'm sure the clean-up after removal would be easy and non-damaging.
