Q: Does the unit come with the required usb/power cord?

It does, but it is quite short, since it seems to have been designed for use with a laptop. To use it with my desktop computer, I spent $20 on a powered USB hub.

That shouldn't happen; my drive worked flawlessly out of the box with Windows 11 Professional. You might want to open the Device Manager and check the settings for external drives.
