These are replacement cards for the Settlers of Catan Boardgame Review: Nice Card set for Catan - I purchased a Catan board game (which, if you have never played it, is a really great game) but the edges that hold the hex board pieces is cardboard and not very easy to assemble, and sometimes comes apart during game play. To make a long story short, I decided I could do better, and made my own frame and hex board pieces from PVC plastic. I decided rather than use the pieces from my boxed game, I would purchase this card set, which includes all of the neccessary cards to play the game. My finished "home made" gameboard turned out great, and now we use this instead of the store bought version. The card set itself is the same one that comes with the game, so if you like Catan and you wear out the card set, this is an option rather than purchasing the entire game. Review: Perfect if you made your own board - I bought these for my brother because he had made his own Catan board a few years ago and loves it more than he did the actual board that came with the game. I know there are plenty of people out there who make their own boards and these are great to go with it. The only cards it doesn't have are the achievement cards (ie longest road, largest army - some use trophies instead,) and the building materials cards but any experienced player can live without those. The cards are colorful and durable which is something I can not say for my bro's homemade index cards.

Needed more cards, now I have them
Love the game that these cards are for, and needed new cards when my husband lost some at a game night. Need more resources? Here you go! These are exactly what they say they are, a replacement pack for the exact same cards your game already came with. Thanks Mayfair for making this pack available so we don't have to purchase the whole thing again!

Love the game, quality suspect
Settlers of Catan is my favorite game in the world. We wore out many of the cards that originally came with the game, so I bought these. There's nothing wrong with the cards, but I do have a little problem with the lack of consistency in printing. With every expansion, each set of cards seems to have a different hue of blue on the back. These particular ones looked a little washed out. The problem here is when drawing cards from another player you might be able to tell the difference between, say a slightly lighter blue resource card from this deck and a slightly darker blue commodity card from the Cities and Knights deck. It's pretty obvious the difference. It's almost like taking all the aces from a deck of red-backed cards and putting them in a deck of blue-backed cards, then playing blackjack with them. I just wish the manufacturer could be a little more consistent on the printing color quality from here on out.

Perfect replacement or supplement deck
I bought this replacement deck to go with the portable version of Catan. Catan is such a fun game that I wanted to be able to bring it on the road, but I didn't want to be stuck with the postage stamp size cards that come with the portable edition. This deck solves that problem.

Wrong Edition received
I've been searching for the 4th edition for months. This was $8.99 more than the manufacturer website. But it was worth it to me to get the 4th Edition instead of the 5th edition, because I want my game pieces to match. I received the 5th edition. Plus the bottom of the card box is bent and damaged. Very disappointed.
