Perfect Product That Does Exactly What It Says!
This product is a true "game-changer" in terms of its ability to perform EXACTLY as advertised in keeping a foot bandage/cast dry and, more importantly, allowing you to easily shower without adding more than about 30-60 seconds to your normal routine. I am so impressed with it that I will take a bit of time to write a more thorough review. When I found out that I needed to have some foot surgery that would require me to keep the bandage dry for three weeks after surgery, I asked the office staff at my doctor's office if they could recommend a product to help me do this without a lot of effort. They were less than useless, only offering the typical "garbage bag and duct tape" solution. I assumed that there must be a better way, so I did a quick Google search on something like "keep foot bandage dry when showering." I got plenty of results, one of which took me to Amazon (of course!) and this product. I read through the reviews, and since so many were positive, I ordered the Seal-Tight protector. For the life of me I can't understand how anyone could have any problem whatsoever with this product. It works PERFECTLY, and easily. Just follow the simple directions, the most important of which is to pull the protector all the way up your leg, and then pull it back down your leg an inch or so to cause the sealing flap to flip the other way and lay against your leg in a downward direction, to more easily shed water. Don't think too hard about this -- as soon as you try it once it will be obvious what to do. The seal is made of a high-quality rubber, kind of like what you would find on an underwater diving mask. It easily stretches over your leg/bandage/cast, yet seals TIGHTLY around your leg at the calf. I put a rubber bath mat in my shower to give me a soft surface to stand on (and, perhaps, be less slippery), so as to protect the Seal-Tight from possibly being punctured (it is guaranteed to last as long as a typical cast). I will admit that I also took one other precaution the first time that I used the Seal-Tight. Since my leg is hairy, I was concerned that it might not seal as tightly as it would without hair. Consequently, I wrapped the top of my calf with an Ace bandage before I put on the Seal-Tight, just in case some water leaked through, so that any water would be absorbed into the Ace bandage and not get down to my foot bandage. After my first shower I found out that this precaution was a complete waste of time -- my leg, despite the hair, was bone dry, so I never did the Ace bandage wrap again, and I NEVER had a drop of water inside the Seal-Tight in three weeks of showing. Finally, a slightly humorous anecdote. I like to take a long, hot shower, but this had to change while using the Seal-Tight. This is not because of any concern about leaks, but instead because my leg began to sweat due to being inside a sealed plastic bag inside a hot environment! So, I limited myself to a shorter shower until the bandage was removed and I could shower without the Seal-Tight!!! Seriously, this is an excellent product that allows you to maintain a normal personal hygiene regimen, with very little effort or additional time (30 seconds to put it on, and another 30 seconds to dry it off and remove it). I would give it 10 stars if that was possible.

Excellent at keeping your cast dry in the shower.
I used this product to keep my fiberglass cast dry after Achilles surgery. I had a cast that came up to just below my knee and this size worked well even for long legs - cast came up 23 inches from the bottom. A trick to putting it on is to put a kitchen sized trash bag over your cast first, and then the Seal Tight protector slides right up the case with no binding or damage to the seal. Just tuck all of the trach bag below the seal and inside the protector. To remove, reverse the procedure by pulling the top of the trash bag back up thru the top seal and it slides right off. I used the Seal Tight protector for over 6 1/2 weeks with no problems, leaks, or issues getting it on or off. Glad someone told me the trash bag trick to get it on and off.

I went to the web cuz I knew there had to be a better way. And I guess its a secret known ...
A......God.....send!! At 41 yrs old this is my first ever cast...needless to say, my first shower was a disaster! Once I got the mess cleaned up and the shower curtain hung back up.....yep.....I went to the web cuz I knew there had to be a better way. And I guess its a secret known only those in the know....who are on a need to know basis...there are these marvelous cast proctors!!! And this one works fantastically!!! (Not sure thats a real word 😀). I have a below the knee cast but have big feet ( women’s size 11) and I was worried the next size down wouldnt fit over my cast...there is....plenty....of room! Too much room really but definately glad I got this one. I have since bought the shorter one and it barely fits over my cast...a word to the wise....if not sure, upsize. Also sorry, Im a nurse and I cant help myself, be mindful of circulation. The seal is great! However, I can only take 15 minutes at most with it on before my toes start tingling so be REALLY cautious if you already have circulation issues. That being said, my cast has stayed dry while showering and getting into the pool (to sit on the stairs with my foot proped out of the water). Also, be careful! The extra material likes to float so dont expect to be able to walk around in the water safely on your own! 😀

works great but hole is tight
So I broke down and bought this because last time I had a cast I sucked it up and used plastic trash bags and I am glad I did. I am 5 ft tall and bag was able to fit over my cast which was under knee and did not leak at all in shower. I have used with the cast and had no leaks. the hole is pretty tight (probably so it won't leak, duh) and so it was a little challenging getting it on (my size 5 wmns foot) and actually very easy to take off. The bag itself is pretty thick and I durable. I have not yet tried to get it on my boot post surgery but i will try for review purposes and maybe see if my bare foot can get in and submerge. (thats future because I'm only week post surgery) I would like to think I if you had help with rubber you can get it over sutures and be fine. The product is a good price and works. If you are sore or tender it probably won't work for you because it is tight and will probably hurt going on.

So far it is keeping my cast dry in the shower! The bag is quite long - I'm 5'3" and there is an excess of a good foot of bag left over. The rubber ring at the top is quite tight as well, but if you don't have thunder thighs like I do, it should be just right. Besides, being tight keeps the water out so it's worth the poor circulation for the short while you are showering. I did pay for 1 day shipping which was disappointing as I'd ordered it on the 25th and it didn't arrive until the 28th. And as anyone who has had to sponge bath with a garbage bag taped to your body can attest to, those extra days last a lifetime. But I am very happy with the product so far and feel it is well worth the price! ***Follow up - The cover survived the full 2 months that I used it and still looks brand new! A great product!***

Absolutely great invention. Everyone who has surgery and can’t get their leg wet needs to buy this. Can’t tell you how good it is. Highly recommended!!

Best investment ever. Even paid extra shipping fees to get it quicker and it changes my daughter's life. She was so happy to be able to have a shower. Never once leaked and she even wore it into a hot tub once.

Does the job, but expensive!

Works incredibly well. Simple to put on and remove. See my photos. You just insert your foot into the hole in the middle of the gasket and you're all set. I have a broken left arm and a broken right foot, so purchased both an arm and a leg version. Super-easy, even with only one working arm, to put both on and take both off all by myself with zero assistance. My cast runs to just below my knee. Since the long-leg and regular length leg cast covers were very close in price, I chose the long-leg model. I could have easily gotten by with the regular length model, I'm sure, and I'd have much less excess material to deal with. The material itself is very similar to heavy-quality vinyl shower curtain. The ring is hard plastic. My only critique is that the bottom of your foot becomes *very* slippery when wearing the cast cover. Silicone anti-slip dots on the foot bottom would be a welcome product improvement. *Use care.* Less expensive, and I believe more practical, than having to pay out-of-pocket for an H2O cast at $25/roll of product at the hospital (P.E.I. pricing) when and if it's available at the time that your cast is applied. Should definitely outlast the lifespan of my cast. Highly recommend.
