Unbelievably good
This is a truly amazing little welder. Of course it is not a top name high output stick welder BUT..... 1 ... it works perfectly 2 ... it has fairly accurate control of the power and options 3 ... the quality of the earthing and stick cables are fairly good So, to get the downside out of the way, the mask is a complete joke. I immediately went to buy one from my local toll shop as the one provided was worse than useless. This IS an important piece of safety equipment and it would have been better to simply not supply it. The slag hammer and wire brush is a bit micky mouse but it works and for the price point it is fine. I bought this welder as I had an urgent requirement to weld up a frame of really thin and horrid mild steel that had fallen apart and was need to be put back into commission the next day. I have a large MIG welder form a well known manufacturer but did not have time to go over to get it. I felt that a simple arc welder would do the simple job but did not want to spend serious money. I expected this would do the job with a bit of fiddling an had a clamp meter to help me make sure I was using the right current and the output was stable. It came with a few sticks which I did test one of and it was fine. I bought some E6013 2.5 sticks to use to weld the horribly thin steel frame. I was also welding outside in virtually zero degrees centigrade so the steel was very cold. Without any practice, I went straight to doing the job and it worked straight away. The current was stable and within a few percent of the expected output. In short I am SO pleased with this little welder and will have it in our fabrication boxes for building and repairing event sets on site. As a note to teh manufacturer. Slightly longer earther and positive cables would be good. The loss of power for 2-3 feet extra would be a good compromise. A case rather than a strap, would be great. If you are going to sell this as a kit then add a mask that is fit for purpose. We threw this out without even trying it. For our project we bought: A cheap and simple SIP welding helmet with an auto darkening faciity - £25 A low end DeWalt cable angle grinder - £39 on offer at half price Norton 115mm Grinding Disks IMPAX 2.5mm E6013 welding sticks - 5KG Some SIP Magnet holders Some welding gloves We also popped into our project box for quick stick welding: An extra heavier wire brush A few clamps An old pair of pointed nose pliers - to keep the core exposed so we could strike an arc first time every time So for less than £200 we have a small flight case with everything we need to confidently make repairs on stage. Of course we have other focussed boxes of tooling to supplement this. If you are concerned about the price of this, some of the negative comments or whether something that is only 4 kilos could be up to the job then dont be. It works so well. The only thing I have marked this down on is the "use for beginners". That is down to typically poor documentation and the rubbish mask.

Awesome value and shockingly good!!!!
I have been incredibly impressed by this little machine. I bought it for a light weight welder to keep in my van, rather than my current Murex transarc tradesman 130, which weighs about 30kg, and I have back issues now. This machine is impressive! Very smooth start and consistent power. I've used it for almost 2 hours of constant welding without fault. Some points to consider: *The supplier screen is a toy! Usable in an absolute emergency but buy an automatic one, it will last and Save your eyes! *The supplied leads are basic and short. Luckily for me, the leads from my Murex Transarc tradesman fitted without adaptation! (9.5mm bayonet type). Final thoughts: +Awesome value for money +Consistent power for smooth welding +Ultra light weight! The leads probably weigh more than the machine. - due to its weight, I'm concerned about it's durability on a job site, but when I use it at the moment, I can literally hang it on a hook by the strap! This is one of my favourite purchases OF ALL TIME!!!! I just need to invest in the TIG attachments next! (I will update this review if anything goes wrong, but I'm optimistic).

Good item for the money
A very good product that works well for small jobs. However the consumables supplied with the machine (flux cored wire) are very poor quality and snaps easily, but replaced with good quality wire it worked well and was easy to operate and produced good strong butt welds on sheet steel.

very easy to use, bit of common sense and your welding.
Very good out of the box a couple of menu selections to make and your welding. If you can measure the thickness of your job and read what's written on your rods. Your glueing stuff together.

perfect for beginners
only had this a day for welding rotton sills. able to make strong welds in less than an hour. struggled with an arc welder for years should have gotten mig sooner. the dials for mig show current in amps (not feed rate) and the voltage is not displayed but can obviously be adjusted. there is no card to show suggested settings so advise chatgpt for current and then set voltage based on the sound the welding makes. i guess you pay more for knowing those specific values. not sure of there is a way of adding a voltage meter. the box and leads feel high quality so no complaints there although only had it one day see how it holds up. its compact and looks great which i really like. it has 13 amp plug and tripped my garage rccb which not had before with arc welder not sure why but fine of extention from within house. highly recommend this if you need to make solid welds with no welding experience especially if youve struggled to strike an arc with an arc welder.

Thumbs up!
Amazing little welder, I have used this for several projects so far. Takes a little practice to get the power setting right but once set up it welds quite well. You wont be joined the hull of the titanic but its great for general use in an agricultural environment for example.

At first I was using AC/DC 7018 rods, 3/32. It wouldn't keep an arc going if my life depended on it. Maybe burn for 3 seconds and the arc would stop. After doing some research I heard that these small inverter machines run best with AC only rods. So I bought 3/32 7018 AC rods and it burns them no problem running on 110 or 220. I was running the machine at 85 amps on 110, burned three rods continuously until I popped my breaker. Long story short, after buying many different rods and getting pissed off, AC rods work fine with this machine, not ac/dc
